AH! I have gray hairs

I got out of the shower today and was drying my hair in the mirror. I noticed 2 different hair strands looked a different color. I thought it was just the angle or it looking shiny, but I got a small scissors and cut the hairs off and they were pure white.

Jesus, I'm only 23.

I'm 21 and have had grey hairs since I was about...16 or so.

You get used to them, or at least I did. I'm not about to start freaking out about what color my hair is at this age. As long as the hair stays on my head, i'm okay with it.

Same thing with me. I'm not all paranoid about it. I just don't want to have half of my hairs gray when I'm 30, because then I'll have to dye it and I'm way too lazy to dye hair.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Why would you have to dye it? Grey hair doesn't look bad.

ps in before twenty people misspell dyeing as dying

I don't like the color personally. Not a big gray or white fan.

I've seen some pretty bad cases; it really makes a college student look twice as old with it, unfortunately. Kind of like Taylor Hicks from American Idol. Premature graying is not as bad as premature baldness since you can dye it. I think it can be due to stress or maybe genetics?

How ya doing, buddy?

I haven't found any white strands lately, but I remember seeing one or two when I was in high school. It was during 11th grade, and I recall that particular year being very stressful. Even though I'm in college now, I'm glad I don't have any white hair anymore.

My hair is also turning gray at parts...very little though. And the cool thing is that my hair grows really fast.

And I don't have a problem dying it.

Staying up too late and a lack of sleep is what I attribute to my white hairs, or at least that's what people tell me, and I just go with it. White hair does look cool, I wouldn't mind having a full head of white hair. But what looks the best is those white streaks in people's hair that have been scared to death (mostly only seen in movies, but it's cool), kind of like Heather Langenkamp playing as Nancy in the NOES series.

I had a few gray hairs a few years ago... I'll learn in the next 8 years if I'm like my father or my mother (My dad's side of the family goes gray starting at 30 and my mom's side barely gray's at all). I intend to let it go gray and not dye it. I think I'd look cool with a long gray/white braid.

Back when I had long hair, I pulled out a hair that was about 16 inches long and about 4 inches up it, it began gradually turning from brown to grey. Of course it has since invited a couple of its grey cousins to move in next door. They happen to live right at the edge of my hairline, above my left eyebrow. I have had these few greys for a while, and until recently thought they were the only ones. Then I found a couple greys on each side of my head, right about my ears. I was sad for about a minute. My dad went basically fully grey by his mid-thirties, so I fully expect to follow suite. By then hopefully I will be balding enough to justify the Mr. Clean look.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

My grandparents lived till they were around 70, they never went bald. On both sides.

At one point, I wanted grey hair because I thought it'd look cool on me. While I now realize it probably won't, I still think it looks good on some people. Especially the grey/whatever color mix... like a light brown, for instance. It's an interesting effect.

I too have streaky gray hair.

I use to detest it, then one day my brother said it looked good mixed in with blonde, so i stoped ripping out my hair.

Still wonder tho. I got to the beach and swim in the ocean as if it were school, yet I get gray hair!:aargh:

My family is the same way. My dad is in his early 40's and his hair is already half gone and what's left is half black and half gray. My mom is a year younger than him and she doesn't have any gray hair at all, nor does she seem to age since she still looks like she's about 30.

Gray hair doesn't normally look bad on men. However, some women can pull off the look and some can't. I know there's a trend in America where men who age are normally accepted and seen as wise--though the Media will probably try to destroy that image--and women who tend to age are seen as cranky old biddies who are beyond their prime.

I'm starting to get a couple of gray hairs thanks to my roommate stresses and/or my dad's genes. I've already started playing with dyes a little to see which color would look best when my hair becomes even more gray. So far, it's only been one or two hairs, but with my dad's genes I'll probably end up going gray soon enough. Especially if I don't figure out a way to convince my dumbass college that they should get rid of the mandatory roommate situation.

I've had gray hairs ever since I was 10 years old. Odder still, is that I've seen some red hairs occasionally and some random hairs growing out of my forehead/cheek.

I've had gray hairs since my freshman year of high school. Eight years later... it's actually less prominent (or maybe people have stopped caring about pointing it out). But I think it was much whiter back then than it is now, though it seems I have more of it now; it just seems to blend better now.

I still have gray hairs and I'm 23. It started back in grade 8. I actually don't mind. I actually like gray hair, but I'm strange like that. People said that it was because of stress or lack of nutrients. Oh well.
