I only do it when someone else is or if I have the volume as loud as it will go. Although I'm being a complete hypocrite, I get irritated occasionally when someone who really can't sing likes to add to the music.

I also do this, for me it's because there's no risk of someone hearing my crappy singing =s

I always sing along to songs. Sometimes I can sing the song really well, but others, I can't and I keep on going. Until my voice leaves. I Love singing. NOt as much as playing the piano or charango though.

I don't care if other people sing songs as long as they sound decent.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

The only time my friends and I sing is when we do it for laughs and when no one else is around because all of know that we are horrible singers. Other then that, I have been blessed in never having to hear anyone else sing in public.

It happens to be like this, unless the singing parts are beyond the crowd. For people to follow their songs they'll sing along. It's hard to imagine that they won't.

In my house I am the loudest and I guess most annoying singer. I love some of my music too much. My brother gets annoyed whenever I sing:

1) I randomly sing along to Mandarin sung songs (sometimes even Cantonese) when I don't have a clue what the words actually are.

2) I go into falsetto overkill (me doing Muse most likely)

3) my "power" singing, I am a fan of metal, I'm a baritone who can't hit many notes of some of my favourite singers so I hit some real high shrill awful sounding notes.

I just love singing but my voice is the shit, I can never really open it up, I always feel like I must sound like Mick McCarthy singing.

I don't sing alound, but I'll ususally mouth along with the words, and that's only when I actually know all the words to that song. I find it annoying when people think they can sing, but they're really terrible...

I don't like it when people sing along to songs. I have never heard anyone I know actually have a tolerable singing voice. It just ruins an otherwise good song.

Heh, I recall one time my friend kept trying to sing a Nightwish song and it was probably one of the worst musical experiences of my life.

I am a sing-a-long person though. My friends and I always turn on the radio and sing along to shitty pop songs, it's fun to do.

I sing along to songs... ALOT. And as long as I have prior knowledge of you being able to sing or not, I don't mind at all if you sing. Although, I do cringe at the fact that some of my friends and family can't sing at all, but you learn to live with it after a while...

Although, there are sometimes where I just want to rip out my friend's stereo and tell them to shut the fuck up... One in particular. Everyone I know says that he can't sing at all, but the problem is in school, he's in concert choir (the good choir in my school)... So in a way, it just contradicts itself.

Bad singer + Good choir = Delusion that you can sing

I really don't know where I was going with that.

I usually don't mind when people sing along, unless I absolutely want to listen to the actual song.

I actually love singing along to songs, but I definitely will not sing when others are around, with the exception of my sisters on some occasions. This is because I don't feel comfortable singing around others, and I sound DEADLY. While I can hit some (not many) notes right, the main problem is my voice.

Heh heh. That's kind of like me. I think I'm okay with falsetto(especially in the song, I believe in a thing called love by the Darkness) and I suck with the higher notes of other songs when the singer is using the "power" singing. Uh...Jimmy Eat World- Pain comes to mind... "Takes my Pain away!"

I was speaking idiomatically.

It's often not that much of a problem, and when people are obviously tone deaf and try, it's good for a laugh. I think most people are so bad it's funny, not annoying. However, when I drive I make sure my car music selection is often too obscure for other people to sing along to.

I'ma sing along if I feel like singing. If that annoys you, you have two choices: if Im riding in your car, change the song on your radio.

If you're riding in my car, sit back and deal with it. In the words of George Carlin: "Can you HANDLE that?"

I enjoy singing to songs that I know and love. They're often power/heavy metal songs with epic choruses. It's fun to do and not necessarially serious. I don't have any complaints of someone singing a song unless it's a song I don't like. It's not like anyone really sings around me regardless so I have no qualms about it.

Arrow

Apparently I'm kind of good at singing, but I don't sing along to stuff unless I'm alone or whoever I'm with doesn't mind or actually likes it(like my boyfriend XD). I'm especially careful because most of the songs I want to sing along to are in Japanese, and I know not everyone's into that.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

At my school, there are only 2 choirs--advance choir and women's choir--my sister was in women's choir until her senior year. You have to audition to get into women's choir...if you're a female. However, men are automatically accepted into advance choir even if they sound horrible b/c they have so very few men.

When you train with a choir you work purely for that reason. I'm sure everyone wants to hit the right notes there'll be people who get a few notes wrong often there and then but it doesn't matter because it contributes to that wall of sound.

I don't know if it's that his voice sucks or he is hitting bum notes or whatever. I was in chorus for a short while but before I knew many who had been in a choir way back in primary school. There are many now at least a few years who aren't good at singing. Nothing wrong with chorus, but it hides your individual voice, and does not serve yourself to be your own singer.

I only hum to a song's tune and since I know I'm not that great I try to keep it down. The only time I'll actually sing to a song if I'm trying to piss off the people around me. With other people singing all I request is that they keep it down unless they're really really good then, maybe I'll think about it.

Actually I think it's ok if you sing along badly and off-key because that's most of the fun of it, as long as you know that you are the suck. I love butchering songs on the radio in my car, because I know I have a shitty ass singing voice but sometimes it's just hilarious to sing for the sake of singing.

It's the people who sing and THINK they're great and won't STOP it that bug me. You know the type, they either sing at an unbearably high pitch or just unknowingly overexaggerate the song, all the while thinking they're better than the original.

Ahaha! No, I don't sing along to songs. I know I suck, so I don't even bother.

Sometimes my sisters will, and I want to SMACK them. It's one of the most obnoxious things in the world. Ninety-nine thousand times out of TEN, your voice will sound nothing like the singer's, and will, if even in-tune, take the original down with it.

IT BASICALLY JUST SUCKS, OKAY.

I'll sometimes sing along when I'm alone in the car, but after about five seconds, my own voice starts to annoy me and I stop. =(

I sing when nobody is around.

I have a pretty accurate sense of pitch, melody and cadence, but a shitty pair of vocal cords.
