Okayz...

I'm not sure, but some people are telling me there's something wrong with my uTorrent since I'm always getting NASTY download rates of 0.0-0.1kb/s...

I'm not sure if it's my setting or something... but I have tried doing

Options > Speed Guide > Test if Portal is Forwarding Properly > OK! Port 25573 is open and accepting connections.

So that sounds okay... any clues if it's my uTorrent or if the torrent is just dieing off?

BTW next to seeds and peers there's for example 1(5) which is the actual number of seeders the 1 or 5?

1 is the number of connected seeds. 5 is the number of potential seeds.

Or something quite like that.

Well the best thing to do is test other torrents that are know to be working. Open Office Torrent is a common one used to check the state of client software. If everything works well with the Open Office torrent then you will know your download problem with the other torrent is a torrent distribution problem and not a client problem.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

For some reason when I stopped a few torrents and only had a few on I was getting some awesome speeds.... could it be I have my download limited or something... anyway to check or get rid of that?

yeah, look at the bottom right corner. you see your amount Dl'ed or current rate? right click on it and it should give you a bunch of options of speeds, I use unlimited for Dl and 10kbs for ups(since i play WoW at the same time too).

You mean to say that you had a bunch of torrents running and were getting slow speeds? If that's the case then it's no wonder.

For starters, your ISP is capping your download and upload speeds. You only have so much bandwidth to utilize. Some ISPs even throttle down torrent traffic through their servers to reduce load.

And if you're running Windows XP SP2, you may be a victim of only having 10 open TCP connections at once. Torrent speeds rely on having as many people as possible connected to send you files, so if this number is small... crap speeds.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I am running the XP SP2... but I got cable and remember easily download OVER 1.8mb/s from gamespot... but now I have like 15 torrents and all together weren't even going at 10Kb/s.... but then I stopped a few then I started getting speeds like 15kb/s+ instead of the usual 0.01-0.5kb/s

hmm if it's the xp sp2 how do I change it?

If you have your ports forwarded and installed the program with all the default settings it will work fine. If you did this and you're still getting bad speeds its the individual torrents fault, not utorrents. Find a better seeded sorce. What kinda mega ass cable line provides 1.8mb/s download..... What is that.... 18Mbit connection?

A patch(found above) can be applied and will "hack" the file in Windows to allow more concurrent TCP connections to and from your computer.

Do not set the number of TCP connections about 90. I've heard it can negatively affect.. stuff. (I can't remember what, though :/)

Small correction, it ups the amount of allowed concurrent TCP connection ATTEMPTS. SP2 does not limit the amount of TCP connections, rather it just limits the amount of new TCP connections that can be opened at any given time. This shouldn't effect your torrent speed at all and it especially true with uTorrent since the program itself limits the amount of concurrent connection attempts to 8 which is below the SP2 limit of 10.

I'd suggest not applying this patch as the TCP limit is set for security reasons and there really is zero need by any program to up the limit.
