Some images of those scaled vehicle series, FF Mechanical Arts, that Kotobukiya is planning to release. They're looking to be really detailed.

Also some images of those polystone statues of Cloud and Sephiroth. You know, that $400 piece set (about $200 each).

Hmm, I'm thinking this is probebly just BestBuy being stupid, but at the same time, I think that a full-fledged FFVII remake/sequel for the PS3's very likely to happen. I'm not buying that "FFVII intro on the PS3 was only a tech-demo and nothing else" crap. Not for one second. Not when Squeenix knows that it'll make bucketloads of money off of such a project.

You know, assuming VII gets remade, I wonder how they'll treat its music? I doubt they'll keep the PS1 version of the score...

I'll second that. Anyone knows the sales of AC to date worldwide? They'll soon find out if its worth it or not.

As of June 19th Square-Enix reported that over 2.4 million copies of AC had been sold worldwide. 1.3 million copies have also been shipped in North America and Square expects the 2.4 million number to continue to increase as AC hits the rest of Europe.

So some solid numbers overall.

Solid enough for an FF7 remake? One would think, at least.

Hopefuly, SE will realize that 2.4 million people are the ones who bought the movie, but I imagine closer to 3 million have seen it -- these are the people who did not buy the movie, but rather downloaded it, saw a friend's copy, or are waiting to buy it either used or simply at a cheaper price. Maybe knowing that will spur them on to making the ever-hoped for remake. Maybe.

Southjag echoes my feelings about the sales: Yeah, I could have easily not bothered to buy it, but I enjoyed the movie and wanted a (legal) copy I could call my own.

I want to see this happen:
A. Make the damm remake and have it be the last 'project' for the Compilation (Aside from the hinted 'ending' title for the entire series)
OR
B. Not make the remake, but Tie up the entire story in a RPG Sequel, a FFVII-2 PROPER
(Yes DoC was a PS2 Sequel of sorts, but it was more like a Side-Story that happened to take place AFTER the main story-line, instead of during it as most Gaiden Games do).

Or more likely, a combination of both: Fix/EXPAND the story in the remake and then have the final title wrap up stuff as an RPG title. Its obvious that they're gonna try milk this for a lot, maybe for all its worth, so might as well go out with having the series bone dry.

Personally, I just rolled my eyes when I read the sales figures for AC. Oh, it's sold well, of course, but I keep wondering if it could have sold even better in NA if A) Square released it sooner, cutting down the number of downloaders, or B) They bothered to advertise it any better than the crap marketing it got.

When Advent Children came out over here, I went round the shops the day after looking for a copy to buy, and every shop had sold out, on both the DVD and UMD. It wasn't until about 2 or 3 weeks after that I was able to get a copy, so it couldn't have sold too bad.

I can't help but feel that Square-Enix would be doing Sony a huge favour if they announced Final Fantasy VII - Teh uberz rEmake!21. It would boast sales of PS3 straight away with people thinking about 2 Final Fantasy XIII games and a FFVII Remake.

Ohh yeah, can you buy those custom swords for the Advent Children figures? I bought the Cloud figure yesterday to go with the Sephiroth figure I got ages ago, but I'd love that custom multi sword

Oh gosh, I love posing my figures too. I got a couple here, plus more I can show from home if people want to see them. I love these figs. I love them so much that I'm using them as my current avatar/sig theme, haha :D

Note: These pics are thumbnails. Click on them to see the full sized image.

I wish they made more figs though. Last I heard, they were 'considering' making a Kadaj fig, but geez, I want more people!

Kinda sucks Rinoa doesn't have her weapon OR Angelo. I wonder why.

Oooh yeah, I told myself I'd get Squall no matter what as soon as I saw pics of it. It's a billion times better than the Bandai ones released years ago. He's my favourite game character too. I'm going to be getting Reunion in July, seeing as how there's English translations for once, and Fenrir a tad later.

I'm planning on taking pics of Squall and Cloud doing stuff, and no, I'm not doing yaoi :D

I'd like to see figs of Quistis, Laguna, Reno (heck, throw in Rude too since they're a pair), Zack, and Kadaj. They should sculpt his bike too if they do make him.

Sure, heh, if you manage to find an auction for one.

Heh, if you still have the Bandai ones, grab the weapons off em and put em on your Play Arts figures. It creates some great poses for dual wielding. Seifer's revolver gunblade works great with Squall, same can be said with Bandai Cloud's buster sword with Play Arts AC Cloud.

Imported that about a month ago along with the book DMC3 Note of Naught.

Dante's just over 5 inches, definitely smaller than I expected. But the quality of the figure itself was worth it. He comes with the Rebellion, Nevan (which actually morphs between guitar and scythe), Ebony & Ivory, Shotgun, stand, and an alternate open mouth head. Probably the best Dante figure made thus far.

Oh, BTW, Dante can be purchased domestically now (just last week I believe). Thanks to Diamond Comics distributing the figures from the Kaiyodo's Revoltech line!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! DANTE!!!!!!!!!!! how could I never foudn out that they did a figure of him! (go check on ebay for an auction)

curently I have all 4 AC figure (could with fenrir) and all 3 of FFVIII I doN,t know why but Squall really seem better quality then any other figures and yeah it's suck that Rinoa doN,t have her weapon wich lower a little is pose (at least they had the sign when she ask Squall for a dance XD)

I love my selphie XD (the more I play the game the more I like her) I really like how they think of somthing so she able to hold the 2 stick of her nuchaklu(sp?) I like her in her winning pose when she taps them on her shoulder XD

she I had a digital camera XD

I really want a trio of Kadaj, Yazoo and Loz, that would be awesome!

and I'll wait for the 3 figure of FFX too and probably FFXII and FFXIII XD

I don't know where I will put them because I'm already out of places now XD

*return check for a Dante figure XD*

GREAT IDEA! I actually never thought of that. I have the Bandai Squall, Rinoa and Seifer. I can't wait til I get Fenrir for some cool posing, but I'm getting the book first. Poor Fenny will have to wait.

I find it annoying that I can't have PlayArts Squall hold the Revolver with both hands. His gunblade is designed for two hands, so I find it just baffling. To top it off, Cloud's sword is designed for one hand use, yet the figure allows him to hold it with both hands. That makes no sense.

Here are some more images:

I just spent the weekend watching the North American FFVII: AC DVD's and I gotta say - wow! I saw the Japanese version a few months earlier and then I finally bought the North American version this week. (Have to show my support for Square-Enix - downloads are a good statistic but don't help them financially) Can't say I'm disappointed. I originally wished AC was going to be a video game sequel but for me, the DVD is a pretty good "extended" ending to the original game. It definitely is a good tribute to Final Fantasy VII. Even after I played FF8, 9, 10, my favorite was still FF7. The music for the ending credits - no complaints, just what I hoped it would be. Every piece that I wanted to hear was included. I still hope FFVII will be remade for the PS3 one day, but after watching the DVD, I also hope they make a real sequel to the original game (I think Vincent's game will be a side story). I had my doubts before I saw the DVD but after watching Disc 2, I truly hope FFVII: AC will be a small step to something bigger!

My order of the Reunion Files finally came in. Did it through YesAsia for the free shipping. Took over a week, but seeing as how the shipping was free, well I can't complain. Though, there's a little damage to the left top corner of the book that's bugging, which is one thing that I hate about buying books/guides/etc online.

The book itself is bigger and thicker than I expected too.

I got that book too from yesasia last week. Once I found out it was billingual, I knew I had to get it. It smells nice and has lots of interesting info :3

Is it worth it to get the Ultimania Omega (that other book)? It's not billingual, but I heard there's some concept artwork in it. I wonder if it's worth the trouble to get it if you don't know a lick of Japanese.

BIG EDIT: I got Fenrir today! It's huge!!! Fenrir AND the box is huge!! It's hard getting Cloud to SIT on the bloody thing, though.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

It's not very expensive, but the only concept art in there becides all the main character stuff that's been out for years are some monsters.

There's this neat section where they show every screenshot from every town, and a few random items are singled out and a little blurb is written about them, but that's obvs in Japanese.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Yeah there isn't a whole lot of original artwork in the Ultimania but the art for some of the Items/Key Items etc is pretty neat and the guide not only covers FFVII but also other Square titles that FFVII characters have appeared in like Ehergeiz, Kingdom Hearts etc.

I mean if you're a FFVII fan then the Ultimania Omega is a nice collectible to pick up.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I'd just like to mention that, if there is enough demand, I'll ysi/sendspace/something the Ultimania Omega, as I happen to have it sitting on my HD right now

Yes the book is awesome. Too bad its the pure japanese version which means any interviews are unreadable =o
