Taskbar not showing opened windows; alt + tab is the only way
I just started up my computer at work today and the taskbar is not showing any of the windows that I've opened. If I minimize something, Alt + Tab is the only way to bring it back. Any insight as to why this is happening?
Edit: Here is a screencap: ![]() Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Can you "grab" the little dotted area to the left of the quick launch icons and drag it to the right some for me?
There's nowhere I can't reach. I didn't say I wouldn't go fishin' with the man.
All I'm sayin' is, if he comes near me, I'll put him in the wall. |
I've tried this already. Oddly they do not want to move even though the mouse changes into the double-sided arrow thing (Taskbar is not locked).
Also, when I disable Quick Launch, the entire Taskbar completely disappears. It just sunk down below the screen, but it won't let me pull it back up (again, the mouse changes to appropriate icon, but still no success) until I enable Quick Launch again. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
One thing you can try for giggles, pull the taskbar as a whole up (make it bigger - move your cursor to the vertical edge so you get the double-arrow). See if that causes the task list bar to properly function and then shrink it down again after that.

No luck:
![]() I've seriously never seen this problem before and have no idea how to fix it. I was speaking idiomatically. |
