I've worn glasses since I was like in first grade, I had a stigma. I stopped wearing them all the time when I turned 14 since I was seeing a little better and for 3 more years I continued the trend of no wearing them inside the house. It seemed like a good idea at the time, lets just say that...

I've been wearing glasses for at least 3years now, got a new like 2 months ago. They're rimless, sorta rectangular, and the lens are transitions. Quite nice, because the frame is so light, I forget I'm wearing them sometimes.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I've worn glasses ever since I was 5 or 6 Prescription is at least -10 something. Yes, I can pass the "how many fingers am I holding?" test, but not when they're way past arm's length. I can still make out blurry outlines if I were to wander around aimlessly without my glasses, but I'm helpless otherwise. No laser surgery for me yet!

I have glasses, but I don't necessarily need them when I'm on the computer, seeing as how I'm near-sighted. Although, even when I'm not at the computer, I still don't wear them. *shrugs* I doubt I'll be wearing them until i really really need to.

My dad has been wearing glasses since I can remember, and my mom only needs them for reading.

I do not wear them and don't need them badly, but they do help. It's like, I can see fine without them, but they do make my vision a bit clearer/sharper. I did have problems a few years ago in high school when I sat in the back of the class. Would've been nice to have some then.

How ya doing, buddy?

I don't wear specs. Which is quite surprising considering how much time i spend in front of the TV and my computer screen.
Rest of my family wear specs though, so i guess it'll get me next.

I wear glasses, but they're not prescription lenses. I just wear them because I look good in glasses.

I wear eyeware (), and I have been for the past three or four years now. I'm nearsighted, which means I can see my computer monitor fine, but it's a bit blurry for me to look at a whiteboard (in class) or at street names on traffic lights.

Needless to say, when I first got my glasses I was impressed on how much better I could see and I never noticed I had gone blind.

I wear glasses. I started wearing them when I was about 18. I guess my vision just slowly started degrading. I really don't care for them and would like to get laser surgery when I'm older. I tried contacts, but they're too much of a hassle.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I wear glasses (I'm nearsighted). I think I got them about halfway through the third grade or so. I wear them all the time, except when I'm reading. If I take them off I can't read anything at all on the computer monitor. I think the main reason my eyes got so bad is because I read almost constantly, but I know sitting in front of the computer sure doesn't help.

I've had glasses since I was in 4th grade. I read a lot as a kid, always lying on my bed in some odd angle and in inadequate lighting. My right eye is worst than my left, since I used to lie on my side and prop my book against a wall.

Well I wear contacts now so it's not a big deal. I've gotten to the age where my eyes haven't gotten any worse so, EH. I wear a pair of Coach magenta oval glasses, I'm actually quite fond of the shape.

I think the question should be moreso, do you have corrected vision, because I mainly wear contacts during the day, and glasses at night. This sounds like a superhero cliche or something.

I think those "emo" black rimmed glasses are all the fad now, but I never actually thought of wearing glasses for the sake of fashion. It's trouble anyway, especially when you're jogging or walking. And they get in the way of headphones that sling around your ear.

That's why I'm an advocate of contacts. If you keep them clean and use them properly (as in not sleep in them), you shouldn't have any problem. They're not troublesome at all once you get into the routine. I've been wearing contacts since middle school - more than I've been wearing glasses (which is since elementary school).

I heard about this and someone told me about staying in front of monitor is not bad for eyes but leave them exaust. If you suffer of short-sightedness as me, that problem is all in your DNA. But soon I'll go to surgeon them: I hope nurse has good hand with laser and doesn't cut off my balls

Is there any evidence to back up what you seem to be claiming? I've asked my optometrist about this, and he claims that the rate of advancement of myopia is a function of genetics, set at conception.

I do need to wear glasses. I only wear them when I need to use the monitor, or when watching something with subtitles, or things like that. Generally, when I'm walking around, I don't wear them. At first, I also didn't remember to wear them as often as I should, which leads to headaches. I've been getting a little better with that.

I've worn them since I was about 18. It's only been the last four years or so that I've started to wear them regularly. For some reason, I can't get used to having something balanced on my nose. It still feels weird. I don't think I'll ever get used to them, but it's better than the headaches.

My right eye is much (much, much) worse than my left. If both eyes were as bad as my right, I'd wear glasses the whole time. I'd like it if I could do without them entirely, but the alternatives really don't appeal.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Yeah, I was told so too. I did some research, and it appears that there really is no strong direct connection between time spent at the computer and bad eyesight. Which makes sense, considering that there are people who watch television / use computer very little, and still need glasses at the age of twenty.

Laser surgery is pretty expensive here in the US, and I have never heard of any insurance company covering it, since it's an elective procedure. I had my surgery years ago, and even back then I paid $900 per eye. I'm sure it's more expensive now.

Well If you say so... I'm not too expert in this field. I thought radiation from monitors plus the burden that must be endured by eyes eventually will cause bad eyesight.

Whew I'm glad to know this. I hope I wont wear any of eyeglasses ever.
