Ugh. Words. Unintelligible ones, at that.

First Parallel Theme deserved to place higher than third.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Big lack of voters. What a disappointment. Are the majority of SotW voters that into the FIFA World Cup or what? I don't have any other explanation.

I nominate MechWarrior 2 (Game Rip) - Track 08 (if anyone feels there's a better track on the OST, I'm open to suggestions). Composer is Jeehun Hwang.

Dunno about others, but I just didn't get around to it this week. :-/

I just listened to a bunch of them. I found 8 kind of boring, but 6 is interesting.

EDIT: Sweet, I remember #10 from the MW2 demo I used to play!

After listening to a bunch more of them, I don't think any of them would have a chance of doing well in SotW. They're simply not interesting/varied enough. I like #10 the best, though.

Check out my original music at my Soundcloud page!

Latest music rips (updated January 10, 2012):

SimCity DS - Jazz/ambient/electronic music including interesting reworkings of songs from the fantastic SimCity 3000 soundtrack
Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels?

Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more

I considered 10, but other than the break in the middle, there's not much else. 6 kind of has an anticlimactic ending. :P

WTF JUST HAPPENED.

I don't know whether to be angry that my least favorite track won, happy that my track placed higher than 6th place, mad that rarely anybody voted and that dramatically would've altered top winners, FURIOUS THAT STAFF ROLL CAME IN 7TH PLACE, or hysteric at the fact that noone realized my nom was a joke nom.

Ugh, what a pukey result. That's what happens when you fail to vote.

And, if history is any precedent, Princess Brünhilde will go on to win Song of the Year.

Except that you cannot always account for taste and I've always enjoyed the music from Ultra's NES lineup.

I'm personally disappointed that Leisure Suit Larry didn't manage to move higher. It was gaining some strong, last-minute momentum.

Of course, I'm simultaneously confused as to how and why First Parallel Theme didn't manage more votes, even amongst the few that were cast. I don't know who nominated it, but I thought that track was head and shoulders above the rest.

One "SonicPanda" from the Soundtrack Central forums was responsible for nominating it.

This explains the mild celebration ten posts up.

Contradictoy feelings. On the one hand, Scrambled Egg Zone (my nom) has placed something that I thought impossible, besides the winner song is a favorite of mine. But on the other hand, the lack of participation has tarnished the show this week.

A question: Will SOTW continue during the celebration of BSC06?

Er, you're not serious, right? The point tallies are really, really low in general, and I was expecting Princess Banenn to be totally trashed this week... Do SotW staff members want to consider having a minimum number of votes in before closing voting when the dateline's up to prevent misrepresentation of voters in the future? Or have particpants vote from scratch for Week 61? I'm now a bit worried that with the BSC AND World Cup, we might see even fewer votes in the coming weeks and witness history repeating itself.

I think that the problem here were the exams. I don't know exactly how it works in the rest of the world, but here the exams are in june, and they take a lot of time, for sure.

Maybe it's a good idea to extend the time of voting in the next weeks if we see that there aren't too much voters.

I didn't vote cause my computer was broken. And actually, does anyone have all off the tracks available? Just because I didn't vote doesn't mean I don't want to listen.

Pretty bleh week, IMO. How I would have went, had I been able to vote:

3 points: Arc Hound (Game Rip) - Stage 5
2 points: Super Monkey Ball 2 (Game Rip) - Staff Roll
1 point: Thunder Force II (Game Rip) - Irrevocable Dream (Stage 5)

That Dark Savior track sounded like any ol' Ailsean or JAXX arrangement from 2000-2001, back before those guys were doing more sophisticated stuff. Meh.

Why pick such a bleh rendition of the LSL theme, when that sax lead was terrible in the beginning? The rest of the performance was better at least.

The piano sample for the Princess Banenn track wasn't used very well; too synthetic-sounding.

Scrambled Egg Zone was lousy.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
