Post Where in your dwelling do you GAME?

I've been thinking about this for a few days now. This was mainly in part because I'm thinking of getting a new LCD TV to basically play video games and watch DVDs. At this moment, I have a Panasonic TAU 32 inch TV in the basement. It's nothing fancy, but it serves its purpose. I'm thinking of getting a 40 inch LCD and get a wall mount to put it in my bedroom. I'll place it on the opposite side of my work desk. This would be an excellent idea if I were to play early into the morning (3 AM-ish) and just want to save and go to bed.

In your house/apartment/dorm/mansion/cardboardbox, where do you game? How are the accoustics for this particular room and the lighting like? What type of chair/bench/lazyboy/beanbag/carpet thing to do you sit on while gaming? If you choose other, please specify.

EDIT: well this is basically geared towards console games, but if you have a PC in a different room, then you can vote for both or more options.

DOUBLE EDIT: If possible, take a picture of your gaming area and post it here. Just try to keep it resonably sized (800 X 600) to avoid stretching tables.

When I'm at home, I play in my room, sitting in a big comfy recliner that I got for my 16th birthday. I have a decent sized 26" TV that does the trick considering I sit pretty close to it.

At school, I have a 24" TV and I lay on my bed. In my new room for next year I will probably do the same depending on where my bed is in the quad, but regardless, I'm comfortable no matter where I get my game on.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I play in my basement, which is fully finished, and has a 55" tv. So, it's pretty much amazing.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well, I voted for living room, 'cause that's where my PC is, but my consoles are in my bedroom. I don't use that nice fancy wide screen TV for my game playing either.

Of course, I also game on handhelds when I come back from work too.

I game on my uncomfortable pokey-spring bed. The light in my room likes to diminish in quality over time due to alternating quality lightbulbs, although I can never tell if the lighting is ever right. If it's a sunny day, then sun will illuminate part of the tv brightly, forcing me to lower the blinds if it ever reaches a distracting level. Otherwise it's not that bad.

Once in a while, when I feel like moving the consoles out to the living room, it's like a luxury. The comparably comfy couch and the very spacious setting with ample lighting and leg room make for a very relaxing game experience. The only thing stopping me is my laziness.

I was speaking idiomatically.

And here's the view from my chair. Got 2 Cambridge Soundworks speakers hooked up to a subwoofer for some nice sounding games/dvds.

i have a den in my basement with a 60" LDTV (low defenition ) and a freaking amazing sterio system. the 30+ year old TV looks great with single player games, it's just a little fuzzy 4-player split screen on high-res games. great for older games though, which is most of what i have. the sound is probably the most amazing thing about it (other than TV size)

I hook everything up in my bedroom. But before when the Playstation first came out I had to share my room with my aunt so all my video games were hooked up in the living room where the computer currently is. When she moved out shortly after, I was able to put all my game systems in my room. So now I just switch a lot of plugs around depending on what system I wanna use. I use the computer to play The Sims 2, and it's in the living room, but I didn't vote for it.

Chairs: Lay-Z-Boy recliners
Console: PS2 (as you can see)
Room: Basement
TV: Panasonic TAU 32 inch CRT

Used to play in my bedroom, but for the past year and a half or so I've moved all my consoles into my extremely crowded living room next to my PC to allow line-in recording. I've been meaning to move everything into my bedroom again but there's no cable outlets in there and I'm too lazy and inept to install one.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I used to game in my living room then I set up my basement to be a sweet place. It has a TV, treadmill, pool table, ping pong table, refrigerator and nice audio hookup. Unfortunately, my basement got tested for radon and scored higher than usual.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I game in my room. I have my PC and TV on one side of my room and a fouton on the other that has a bunk on the top which I use to hold my speaker system (which is quite shitty but I make do) hooked up to my PC, TV, and Creative Mp3 player. All my systems are all shoved in a big cabinet under the TV (Xbox, N64, SNES, NES, GCN, DS, GBA SP) Hell I never leave my room hardly

I don't have a digital camera at the moment but I may edit some pics in later (un cleaned)

EDIT:I realise that the Xbox must look silly in that list but I am planning on buying a PS2 soon to ballance the Nintendo ratio

EDIT 2:

my computer area which is next to:

my TV, and consols (Xbox is at my friends since we recently LANed)

and here is where I usually sit when playing with my games, my shit speakers and practicaly disfunctional guitar also make an appearance here

I used to play in my bedroom when I still lived at home. Now, I tend to play games in the living room since the television is larger and I keep my consoles there.

I just play games in my bedroom. I have no problem with it (the lighting is good, there's enough space to play with someone else, plenty of room for my games), but rather, the problem lies with my television. It's a crappy, 19" mono speaker piece of shit that seems to be on it's last lives. It I got a better TV, than my setup would be perfect.

I play games in my bedroom. Perfect place really since my Mom always watches TV in the living room. I have played games in the living room at times, but it's in my bedroom for the last couple of years. Everything is there, including the master bathroom.

Now if only I had a mini fridge...

My apartment living room has pretty good area going on right about now. Nothing terribly fancy at the moment with just a 32 inch CRT being awesome but that's about it. (This will change shortly).

However, I also have a PC in one of my 2 bedrooms, and later on probably have a PC in the other one as well.

And I don't know if it counts but I've been known to play games using portables like my laptop and handhelds like my DS when I am taking a shit (so the bathroom counts) and cooking in the kitchen. (Damn water takes a long time to boil! I can totally race another track in Mario Kart!)

I play games exclusively in my bedroom. The lighting is fine, I suppose, but it's usually pretty hot nowadays unless I keep the fan going at full blast all the time. And it can get cold after a while of that.. It's an endless cycle. :P I usually sit at my desk to play games, but sometimes I sit or lie down on the bed.

Here's a crappy webcam photo of my gaming television and my Gamecube. Best I can do with my limited resources.

At home I play games in the dining room, simply because the PC and the consoles are in there. I don't even have a TV in my room anyway, else I'd never come out again...

I live in a decent sized studio room apartment/loft so it's kinda an all of the above. For the most part, its a large couch in front of a 60-inch HDTV in the middle of the room.

I usually play in the living room, as we have a nice, big TV in there, along with surround sound. I also find it much more confortable to play while half-reclined in the corner of the couch. If I can't use the TV there, I just bring the PS2 up into my room where I have to use a tiny TV with built-in speakers. I also don't really like playing on the bed, since I can't lay down, and I don't like sitting and gaming without a backrest.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
