Is this murder?
So - the public transit collector was a huge asshole to my girlfriend this afternoon. She asked him to break a $1 coin into quarters so she could use it to pay the extra fare when changing zones, and he starts yelling at her and calling her stupid and telling her not to come back to get change again, etc... well after she got through the booth (I was just dropping her off), I was just shaking my head at the collector (I couldn't believe he was being a huge asshole about it). and he says,
"You can shake your head all you want." I was thinking about saying something earlier, but I hadn't figured out what to say, but responded with the first thing that came to my head, "I guess you had a good day off on monday then." What happened on monday, is that 106 janitors and track workers were moved to the nightshift to make it easier/faster for them to do thier jobs, save money, etc... Well, they were pissed, and staged an illegal strike (including all the bus drivers and collectors), which shut down the whole public transit in toronto for pretty much the whole day (there was some service that started aroudn 6-7ish, but it wasn't completly restored until the next day.) They went sofar as to even kick people off of busses in the morning that they had already paid to be on (one of my friends got on a bus, and got one stop before she was kicked off with the rest of the passengers and the bus went out of service.) But the collector in the booth just got pissed, got a little red, and started yelling. "I sit here for 16 hours everyday and work my ass off, I don't need people like you coming in here and giving me shit for how I do my job" It went on like that for a couple of seconds more, where I just smiled and put in a couple uh-huhs, and then just as he was getting madder (because my smile kept on getting bigger), I put my hands to my eyes and wiped away fake tears, while saying, "Cry me a river buddy." Now most of the people waiting in line laughed at that, there was quite a crowd too since he had been neglecting his duties to yell at me some... But he didn't think it was funny at all - he totally lost it. Like spit on the glass of the booth yelling. I couldn't even make out what he was saying he was so furious he was mixing his words and not making any sense at all. But my question lies here... He's an old guy, early 60's I imagine... And I figure he's the type just to keep on getting angry, especially the more and more I stay calm and smile... So - I'm guessing that he's getting on in his years, and that the anger isn't good for him - but could it kill him? Could I go back and get him angry enough to give him a heart attack? Noone fucking talks to my girlfriend like that and gets away with it. And if I did go and do that, would it be murder? Jam it back in, in the dark.

I don't know about the possibility of giving him a heart-attack, but assuming that you can:
You're in Canada right? (can't remember) I think in the US you can be charged with some degree of murder. For example, if the guy has a heart-attack right in front of you, and you do absolutely nothing to help him, you can be charged with some sort of crime, due to inaction(Good Samaritan Law[?] I think). Also, if they can prove that you deliberately attempted to inflame the man in order to give him a heart attack, then you might be in big trouble. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
This thread is ridiculous.
He bitched at your girl, you pissed him the fuck off; I think you're even. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
That's not enough - he's got to learn not to fuck with us again.
I was speaking idiomatically.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
If you really want to kill him, grow a pair and beat his ass. If not then let it be.
FELIPE NO ![]() |
If you know he might die because of what you do and you do it, then you'll fukken be responsible for his death. He's obv. a choleric, and if he's really old, maybe you should consider the fact that he could be angry because of his age (old people happen to get more angry and serious, you know) and well, he has a shitjob, that's for sure. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
EDIT: However, I think this law is only in the U.S. I don't know if they have a similar law in Canadia. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]()

I could give a flying fuck what his life is like - it's none of my damned buisness, and it sure as hell doesn't give him the right to berate my girlfriend. If he had left his locked booth to continue yelling, I would have enjoyed beating him into a bloody mess.
Double Post: And shit - that's true, I'm CPR qualified, so I'd have to help the fucker out.... But that might even be better - not only did I anger him to the point of heart attack, but he then would be in my debt for saving his life... haha! Maybe that mental stress would drive him to suicide. Wait - I thought I was only legally responsible to help someone out only if I was on-shift (IE at school or work where they provide the training)... Not saying that I wouldn't help somone out if I was off-shift (except maybe this fucker). How ya doing, buddy?

The man berated your girlfriend. You get into a verbal exchange with him which, if your version of events is to be believed, you won. This should be enough, but you want to go back, pick another fight with him, and if possible, kill him.
Do you not think you're overreacting just a little bit here? This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Not when it comes to my girlfriend, or any of my family for that matter. Noone talks to them like that. No one. If he hadn't been behind a bulletproof sheet of glass, then I would've pummeled him right there.

Let it go dude. You already turned his face red and turned him into a ranting and raving psuedo Hitler. What more satisfaction do you need?
I agree that he probably deserved being told off for being so rude, but by taking it further and further and further and further, doesn't that just make it so that you're eventually stooping to his level and no better than him? Is your revenge so necessary against the words of a nut that you're willing to dream of giving a man a coronary over it? :eyebrow: Not berating you or anything, just kind of seems silly to take it any further since the situation is already over, y'know? I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
I'd have taken total satisfaction of pissing him off, especially in front of a laughing crowd. There's no reason for you to want to kill him. You already won.
How ya doing, buddy? |
I know - it would just be much more satisfying knowing that he would not do that again - not to my girlfriend, or anybody else.
I did get another kick in at him - I called the TTC customer service line, and told them about what happened. I asked them for a signed and written apology from the man to my girlfriend... They said it wouldn't be a problem at all, and took her name and my address. Now - if he's the type of person he seems to be - if his boss gets him soon enough (before he forgets about it), it'll blow his top ![]() FELIPE NO

Do you believe that mouthing off to someone is an offense that should be punishable by death?

I think you have a vendetta against a public transit employee. Now he knows your girlfriend's name. =X
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
But, let me tell you something. If the man had a heart attack during your first exchange, and you couldn't save him--say because he was locked behind that glass--then it's an accidental death. No problem. However, since you are asking if you go back and do the same thing so he WILL have one and die, and you pruposely do nothing about it. It's pre-meditated murder. See you on death row. There's nowhere I can't reach.

That said, it sounds like you did plenty, making him look like an idiot in front of a crowd. It sounds like continuing to live would be a worse punishment for this guy. Most amazing jew boots |

A word of advice my friend.. Don't ever ask a question like that in a public forum, ever.. not with your phrasing and narration..
You're lucky the peeps who answered to ur post are sane, healthy and even very mature people, but in most cases you're as likely to get bashed as u r to be advised.. Let alone be Ill-Advised.. Regardless; im with you all the way on killing the bastard and gettin' away with it.. hey, who said i was sane or mature?.. I was speaking idiomatically.

I'm thinking my sympathies lie with the frustrated man behind the glass ... not that he had any right to bitch at your girlfriend. I'd have left it at that and then asked for the letter from the company.

This old guy reminds me a lot of the customers I talked to on the phone when I was tech-support... damn those guys are mean...
as far a murder is concerned it can work two ways: 1. You won't be blamed because it was the old guy's fault for not taking care of himself and not getting anger management knowing the consequences for not doing so. 2. You would be blamed for it because you made the guy angry. Personally I take number one. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
