I bought Seasons 2, 3 and 5 of the X-Files thinpaks last weekend.

I plan to pick up Seasons 4 and 6 soon -- and of course, Seasons 7-9 when they arrive June 6th.

Addicted now, eh?
Good!

I recently bought season 8....even though season 8 and 9 are rather weak seasons in general.
I still wanna complete my collection and recently the X-Files DVD boxes have become criminally cheap. (29.99 euro's)

I will probably buy season 9 very soon too.
Especially because I have never seen the finale episode's!

Yeah, I started watching Season 1 recently, after never really watching it on TV. I can't believe I missed such a great series.

Tappy, do you buy the newly released thinkpaks? Or the original boxset releases, which were hefty in price?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I bought the original boxsets until season 7 (which are the seasons you "must" have and 8 & 9 are nice extra additions) and now they stopped releasing them over here.

So I only have the thinpack of season 8.
The original boxsets have a less cheaper "feel", but they do take up a bit more space.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I will definitely end up purchasing all the seasons, including 8 and 9. I couldn't afford the original boxsets, considering each of them were $100+ Canadian. These thinpaks, on the other hand, are reasonably priced.

Did you start watching the series on DVD like me? Or did you used to watch it on TV?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I just bought Dir en grey's Withering To Death at FYE last week for 10 bucks. It's their first american release, and even though I have the imported version, for ten bucks to buy it again is worth it, and it shows they have fans here in America. Heh.

I already was a fan when it first came on tv.
Like in the US, X-Files was a rather big thing in the Netherlands back in 1993/1994....everybody was talking about it in school or at work!

Together with Buffy, I guess you could say these are both on my number 1 spot of best tv series ever made!

I starting buying the boxsets when they originally arrived on DVD for the first time.
Especially the first 3 or 4 seasons were absolutely freakin' expensive.
I remember buying the first season for around 120 or 130 euro's.
(it was back when we didn't have the euro yet, so I can't remember exactly...it could be even more then 130 euro's).
But they were an absolute must-have for me at that time....so I just bought them nevertheless!

I was speaking idiomatically.

I got Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children yesterday and watched it. Somehow my opinions of movies are always different from those of others, as I really seemed to enjoy it. There's lots of action in the second half of the film too.

Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds. Awesome album. The ULLA thing is kinda irritating, but other than that I can't see any flaw with it. The first three tracks are the standouts, alongside "Brave New World." I love the voice of the dude who plays the Artilleryman.

I am 14 episodes into the 1st Season, and I can understand where all the praises were coming from. The writing and the pacing are very good. Music is done by Mark Snow, right? Terrific stuff.

"Ice" was a great episode. I was on the edge of my seat.

I always felt that after the X-Files movie, the following seasons suffered severly. At the start of Season 8 with the introduction of Doggett, the show picked up. Season 9, uh...wasn't really necessary.

Last CD was Disarmonia Mundi's Nebularium and Fragments of D-Generation. Turns out the download for D-Generation has its tracks mixed.

Last DVD bought was The Professional: Deluxe Edition.

I went and got Oliver & Company today for $12.99. I can't justify spending $30 on Disney movies, so I'm glad I found this for cheap in a used book store. I was going to get The Fox and The Hound for $9.99 as I think it's a better movie than O&C, but it wasn't in widescreen. Pppft.

Borders had a buy 3 get one free sale on DVDs, so I wound up leaving with more than I expected to. I had only planned on buying The 4400: The Complete Second Season, but after I found out about the sale I had to take advantage of it. My mom was already getting The Big Valley: The First Season on DVD, so I just added that on to my purchases to make that two. Then I saw that The Closer: The Complete First Season was out on DVD, so I picked that up to make three. Finally, I saw The Job: The Complete Series, and decided to make that my last purchase.

Funny thing is, they're supposed to make the lowest priced item the free one, but they didn't. The Closer was $35, making it the lowest priced one, but they instead made The 4400, which cost $40, the free one. It only saved me $5, but five bucks is five bucks.

I already have the first season of The 4400, but I've never seen the second season. I figured I would get this so I could watch all of it before the third season airs, which starts next month.

I never watched The Closer before, but it looked interesting from the commercials. I figured I would do the same thing with this as I'll do with The 4400: Watch it on DVD so I can watch the next season when it airs on TV (season 2 of The Closer also starts next month).

The Job was Denis Leary's show that he made before Rescue Me (which I just got through watching on DVD), so I figured I would give this show a shot. If it's even half as funny as Rescue Me, it'll definitely be a good show. I actually remember watching an episode or two when it first came on TV, and I think I liked it.

I also picked up a copy of the first issue of 24: The Official Magazine. It's awesome, except for a few errors in it that I saw.

:: Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
I wouldn't have picked this up, except a friend was going through the Pink Floyd section and the conversation basically went... "that one's good, thats one's good, that one's good... I saw that building on a history trip"
"animals?"
"Yeah, that one's good. This one..."
"ohhh, Dream Theater covered the title track from that when I saw them."
"It's pretty good, I'd buy it."
So, I took his advice for ages and I did. I've been meaning to get some PF for ages, now, so here it is. I'm liking it.

:: Porcupine Tree - Coma Divine
Only just started to spin it, liking the changes to Signify. As in, a lot. This is gonna be a pretty rocking album, methinks. I usually stray away from live albums (I'm more of a DVD man myself - I used to get both, but then I realised I didn't have much money), but it's supposedly in the top five live prog albums, according to Progarchives.com, so I thought "what the hell, I already have Warszawa, I'll get it next time I'm in town." Not disappointed so far.

Disturbed - Ten Thousand Fists
After near-constant play on Need for Speed: Most Wanted of the track Decadence I decided to go out and buy this album. Damn EA, and their EA tracks. From what i've heard so far, it's pretty good though.

Avenged Sevenfold - Sounding The Seventh Trumpet
Again, damn EA and their stupid EA tracks. Blinded In Chains was the pursuasive track this time. Pity i couldn't find the album with it on. So i settled for this one. Not listened to it yet.

Today I bought: 1) 'Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith'. For some reason it took me six to seven months to get this one. I have all of the 'Star Wars' movies. 2) 'P!nk - Live in Europe' DVD. Just came out. This covers her 2004 'Try This' Tour in Europe. I haven't been to one of Pink's concerts, so this will be fun to watch. I think she comes to Houston sometime this year. 3) 'Alien Resurrection' soundtrack. I've been looking for this for a long time. I now have music to all of the 'Alien' movies.

Just bought Saw II, Serenity, Land Of The Dead & Domino!

I've seen Saw II and Land Of The Dead...and both were decent.
Saw II began good, but became weaker and weaker towards the end and Land Of The Dead was enjoyable, but somehow not upto par with Romero's other "Dead" movies!

I bought Kingdom of Heaven and Memento. Kingdom of Heaven was a pretty good movie although it was nowhere in the same league as Gladiator. Still, I think Ridley Scott did a pretty good job on that movie.

As for Memento, I first saw this in English class of my senior year 2 years ago but we never got to finish watching it. By this time I forgot the entire layout of the story so it's probably a good time to watch it again and actually finish this time.
