Siren

I'm currently in the prosess of beating the first game and I started some reasearch into the series. I came across the first two movies that have been realsed in japan and I found this

"Ghost House Pictures, the production company founded by Evil Dead veterans Sam Raimi and Rob Taper have acquired the film rights to Sony’s horror themed video games series Siren (aka Forbidden Siren). It is not clear whether Spider-Man director Raimi will direct the movie, but movie trade paper Variety reports that script writer Michael Gordon, who has just finished work on the movie script for comic book license 300, will be working closely with the game’s director Keiichiro Toyama.Toyama was one of the co-creators of the Silent Hill series, and although Siren was not as significant a commercial or critical hit, it was noted for its well drawn and frightening atmosphere as a disparate group of individuals explore a haunted Japanese village. A sequel is currently scheduled for release in Japan next month."

I'm just wondering if anyone else would want to see it.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I'm curious, but I haven't played the games. I was initially attracted to the game series because of the controversial commercials that were pulled from airwaves in Japan (they weren't very scary at all, but frightened children). The trailer for Siren 2, the game, was actually scary. The air raid siren's put to good use, as that thing's always made my skin crawl for whatever reason.

The Japanese movie trailer looked interesting, but reminded me of Kairo/Pulse ...which isn't a good thing. I'll be interested to see how Sam Raimi takes the series, as he's one of my favorite directors.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Siren movies? The game was more frustrating than scary due to the high learning curve and unforgiving difficulty (Y HALO THAR one-hit kills), but I did like the concept of the ocean turning to blood and the vengeful spirits.

It might actually work very well as a movie, as you can focus more on becoming absorbed in the atmosphere and getting good and freaked out instead of cursing the control scheme or the monster that you couldn't see due to some shitty camera angle.

Who knows? Maybe Silent Hill has started a welcome trend of well-made game-to-movie adaptations, at least where horror is concerned. I'll maintain a healthy degree of skepticism, but it just might work.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I actualy only played the first siren game but gave up, because I hated the controls and because I'm well you know not that good a gamer.
But I loved the environments and the sidejacking stuff.

As for the movie... I'm not pumped to see it but it might just turn out to be pretty cool

There's only been one movie made in Japan, based on the Siren 2 game.

I was speaking idiomatically.
