All those screens that were posted a few pages back have been pulled down by ImageShack. To those who posted them -- could you like, YSI them in a .rar or something? I'd really like to see the ones posted. There are three available at GameSpot, but there appears to be more than those available in this thread.

Sweet, the trailer is awesome! Love the music. And from that viewing, it looks like I guessed right about the weapon. It appears as if it can morph/transform between a gun and a sword, essentially it's a gunblade.

The combat looks to be much more well paced. Looks like you set up a combo of attacks, kinda of like Legend of Legaia or Chrono Cross, where you can fuse magic and physical attacks in one turn. Pretty sweet!

Definitely another game I'm looking forward to on the PS3.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Then buy the next game after that!". I had told myself before that I was tired of multi-episode games, and how I want more games that tell a complete story from start to finish, without having to buy a handheld game to get the entire story.

But I suppose it's too early to worry about any of that. I hope they give a tentative release date, and hopefully within the next year.
FF vs. XIII and FFXIII have nothing to do with each other from what !UP and Official Site has said. FFXII Agito is just a small semi-sequel to FFXIII or, Gaiden. So you won't have to worry about that.

So, I guess this will be the first FF game to limit your party to one character?

Let's not get carried away here.

you know this is a very eraly stage of the game, up until now they were working on the white engine and able to show this ,after E3 they are now working only in the game content (the engine is finish) so there will probably be a lot of change till the release and I don't think there will be only one main character but I can see one of the first FF with just a few main characters. Again this could be something new to the FF to focus only on one character (nobody could complain about how all the other character weren't enough developped >.>)

I just hope that even if they go more action base with the battle system that in a few years they will NOT change Final Fantasy in an action game like DMC (even if DMC is a really good game still FF is an rpg and I want it to be this way)

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Hmm, I wonder if this game is going to be action-RPGish or more traditional in nature. I certainly can't tell from the clip that I watched.

Notice how each slot at the bottom of the screen greys out after being performed?

Really lovin' the new weapon too. It's kinda like a switch blade, where it can transform between a blade and a gun. Really neat.

I am personally ver excited about FF13, while gameplay is still vague, it at least looks promising, and finally we have a kick ass girl as the main character, no more Sterotype feminine looking heros again, we now have HEROINES.

The graphics naturally look breathtaking, this game is gonna be one of the reasons why I need to get a PS3.

Whew! That's even better than I first thought, the battle pace is "débile", and express next-gen, it's much better than just better graphics, really if we can get that kind of pace and interactivity, and still have 30 hours of gameplay (not counting side quest), it will be great.

Now, I wondering why Square did pulll this off this early, even before FFXII releases in America, do any of you guys remember when they pulled off the first details about FFX? How many months it was before the PS2 launch?

I mean there must be a specific reason, we're talking abut mutli-mutli million dollar projects here, they sure don't want to mess anything up...

Probably because FF12 was delayed for way too long, they have to announce something for the PS3, since its one of the main focus on E3. And I bet FF13 has been developed for a while, but FF12 held back whatever annoucements they had planned, be it just an annoucement of production, some showings of art, or even a ready made trailer.Besides, FF12 may not be doing as well as one would think, since I've heard the Japan market is saturated with 2nd hand copies of FF12. FF12 may not be enough to get good impressions in E3, since FF12 is likely to get mixed reactions, what with its revamped online style gameplay and a story that is political based than character based.

KH2 is out, AC is out, aside from some unrevealed FF7 compliation games (like PSP Crisis core) and mana and valkerie games, there isn't anything else that gives that large BANG people would want, those games would be nothing compared to what other companies are showing, like MGS4 for Konami.

While its questionable if 13's announcement is too early, at least SE is getting alot of good exposure and media press for the game.

If FF13 plays and looks as good as the trailer, I'm defintly skipping 12 and right on to 13.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

The game looks simply amazing, I dare say that it looks even better than Metal Gear Solid 4.
This game will be definetly the first game I'll buy on PS3.
I loved the logo, the screens, the female character, everything about it is great.

I'm gonna change my name from Yuna to whatever her name is.

In all seriousness though, I've pointed this out, but I'd really did wish they didn't give the news so soon. Now it really seems FFXII dropped of the face of the Western Hemisphere, while probably 90%* of Japanese players have already beat it by now and playing it for the 2nd round, seeing their gaming habits. I mean sure it does look nice, almost like a Vincent"nette" but of course I'm still skeptical. I haven't even had time to digest and comprehend how the FFXII system will play out, and no, I didn't get DQVIII for the demo either.

Kairi, where did you get those hi-res screens from? I need to find a better picture for my avatar.

One thing I hope they DON'T do in this FF is planet-hopping. Plenty of other RPGs have focused on travelling to other planets, but I believe Square will finally kill the "fantasy" in "Final Fantasy" if they decide to do the same. I prefer if all the events take place in one planet (earth, or whatever they're going to call it).

Planet hopping is going to be weird, plus it makes each world so small and treats each world as a city rather than multiple cities on one world. Unless you've got the scale of the FFXII's Ivalice for every planet. Whoa.

Even if they could make each planet that sizable, I think that might be a bit too much to take in. I'm all for epic and long RPGs, but even I'm leary at the thought of having to learn a whole set of rules each time I visit a new planet.

"Hey, could you do me a favor and deliver this [random item name] to my friend over at [random planet name]. He's about a billion light years away, thanks."

"Hey, thanks for the item, but unfortunately I leant out the item I was supposed to trade to a friend over at [another random planet]. Could you go over there and pick it up for me? It's only a 3 day cryo-stasis trip."

No thanks. Colonies, maybe, but not entire planets.
