Not to mention United 93, which is, for all I know, the first movie of its kind to hit the silver screen since 9/11 itself. So while yes, the war has been going on for a decent amount of time, the movie is a pretty big deal. Especially since some theaters are banning it, if I remember correctly.
With both the war and this movie being released, I would be hard-pressed not to find the media covering some kind of aspect of 9/11 still.
So, what I was curious about was, what did you expect?

I'm not saying the movie isn't a big deal. The simple,
itty bitty point I was trying to make is that I'm tired of seeing non-stop coverage or references to an event that, despite how tragic it was, happened a few years ago. I don't need a movie to try and "lift my spirits." If I needed that, I'd go watch
Pay it Forward.
The war might have something to do with this. Hell, the movie might too, I don't know. I guess the most I can do is turn off my TV or get my daily dose of news from soundbytes on the radio. It's not that I'm overly sensitive about 9/11 or quiver in fear at the mere mentioning of the World Trade Center, I'm just tired of having to be "forced" to care.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
