Ong Bak (Fight Club sequence)

Ong Bak is my favorite martial arts film of all time, replacing Fist of Legend and Iron Monkey (which were also my dad's favorites until we saw Tony Jaa on the big screen). It featured a fighting style we'd rarely seen in action flicks and was both creative, exciting, and to an extent, real. Real in the sense that there were no stunt-doubles or wires involved in the making of the film. Throughout the movie I found myself practically leaping from my seat yelling "oh hell naw" whenever Tony did something spectacular.

Tom Yum Goong (Chinese Sword)
Tom Yum Goong (Capoeira)

Two more fight scenes, but not my favorite. This is really for those interested in seeing a clip from his second big movie, Tom Yum Goong. I downloaded the raw a few months ago and found it couldn't live up to Ong Bak, but it had some very pretty fight scenes. Unfortunately, I found CG in one of the final battles (a woman's whip) and some of the fights simply weren't very creative. I really enjoyed these two, though.

DRIVE? Hahaha. Best bad movie ever.

Well, actually, not really, but it has Marc Dacascos soit automatically wins. It has been released domestically and aired on HBO a few years ago. As laughably bad as the movie might have been, Dacascos is a talented martial artist. It's kind of funny, actually: a martial arts instructor I had in middle school is good friends with Dacascos.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
