Mostly feel the same as what's been said - great (miraculous) news that the kid's alive and well(?), but you have to wonder just what sort of influence the guy would have had on the one kid over the course of 4+ years. Plus he's probably missed schooling, is out of touch with real society, and feels alien when placed back amongst his family and friends. I hope he can cope alright.
