I love winter. At least, I love it until after New Years. After that, everything looks so drab and the snow gets dirty so fast. The sky is always gray and the trees are bare.
But everything before February is GREAT.

Say what? After New Year's is the best time for winter!
The snow gets thicker and frostier, and the nights are fantastic.
Look, I don't know about you guys, but I
love snow and cold weather. Not to say that I love the extreme cold weather (anything below 10 F is pushing it), but I find that winter makes everything seem so much more important.
Like in the summer there's always something going on that distracts me, be it the wind blowing the grass or the sunshine for 12+ hours. And in the winter it's the opposite: everything in front of me is the most important thing. When I'm at work I'm not thinking about getting out so I can go fishing, I'm thinking about what's on the agenda. When I'm with my girlfriend it's not that I want to take her out to some expensive ass dinner, I want to cook something for her and stay in and watch a movie under a shared blanket.
Plus I've always noticed that certain music sounds
so much better in the winter. Boards of Canada is a winter staple for me, along with other mellow tunes.
ps - I forgot to mention that I know exactly what the above poster means, what with the cold walks chilling you to the bone. But let's face it, in summer you'd be sweating your ass off and reeking of shit (BO), and it'd take you some time before you're able to cool off and function again.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
