Duke Nukem Forever: 2007?

It's that time of the decade again!
News about the most anticipated video game in the history of mankind:
Quote:
The sequel to Duke Nukem 3D is PC gaming myth, lore and legend. 3D Realms has been supposedly working on the game for more than a decade now, yet we've seen so little about the project that it's hard to believe they'd done anything but Sudoku puzzles. Was Sudoku even around when they started working on Duke Nukem Forever? I can't get it straight anymore.

To prove the skeptics wrong, 3D Realms president George Broussard randomly posted a thumbnail-sized screen shot from the game on the Shacknews message boards. Georgey says it's in-game, but they've also said the game will be released some day, so take it with the appropriate grain of salt:

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Gamespot ran a story yesterday wherein they spoke to George Broussard, da prez of 3D REALMS.
Quote:
"Yes, that was me and that's an in-game, real-time shot of Duke standing in a random hallway," Broussard said. "I just stuck it on a Gamasutra ad to make it stand out from the sea of company logos and maybe act as a small teaser."

As for whether or not this marks the beginning of a marketing push for Duke Nukem Forever that would see more information unveiled in the near future, Broussard said there is nothing official yet.

"We tend to just do unconventional things in terms of PR," he said. "But we're starting to wake from our slumber and think about when and how best to show the game."
Maybe they'll release some footage soon. OMG.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Yeah, and how awesome was that game!
Hey now, you have to give Prey some credit.
After all, it was discontinued, then re-started with another development team on a totally different engine. I think all they kept was the portal technology, but even that was altered and enhanced.

Duke, on the other hand, has been in development with the same team (for all we know).
