Diaries

Who else has their own personal diary?

What I am talking about are the diaries that you write things down that you wouldn't tell anyone else. Something that you just have to get out somewhere so you write it down. The kind of stuff that if found you might be embarrassed.
I'm not talking about Chocojournals/LiveJournals though (unless those are the ones you solely write in because you don't mind making your thoughts public to millions of anonymous strangers)

I have one that I've been writing into for a little over 2 years now. It's not that it's big or anything, I just don't write much. I had a few stints where I wrote in it every night, recapping the day or what ever, but that got a little boring. So now I just write my little epiphanies or introspections whenever they come to me. I find it helpful, even liberating and therapeutic sometimes.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I had a diary when I was about 9, but one day when I came home I found the lock broken and the diary opened. It turned out my brother read it and then showed it to my whole family. I wrote alot of personal things in it, mostly silly stuff, but after that incident I just gave up keeping a diary. If I have thoughts or problems, I just discuss them with friends now.
Yeah that happened to a friend of mine, which is of course why she stopped keeping a personal diary as well.
I encouraged her to start a new one, and hide it somewhere if she felt insecure about people looking for it.

I'm pretty lucky myself. No one goes through my diary--that I know of--even when I've kept it in open view in my room (albeit on accident).

There's nowhere I can't reach.
