Sony's Blu-Ray Player Delayed....AGAIN
Sony's own official Blu-Ray player, the BDP-S1, has been delayed for a second time.
Originally supposed to be out this summer, it was delayed until August. Yet, on Sony's "Sony Style" website, they have delayed it yet again to "on or around October 25". Why the delay? It's really anyone's guess, but the fact that it's been delayed two times already, and keeping in mind that this is THEIR OWN technology, one can only assume that something's not wrong in Sony's camp. Perhaps this potential problem in the Blu-Ray world can even lead to a potential delay for the PS3? One can only wonder... Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Yes, I do know that the Samsung model is out, yet most Blu-Ray enthusiasts were eagerly awaiting the 1st-party player. The BDP-S1 was supposed to have been released first, but due to its delays, the Samsung player ended up being released first.
It just doesn't look good on the business side when Blu-Ray is Sony's own technology, they hype it up to such extremes, yet their own in-house player for it is being delayed for unknown reasons, thus giving the consumers only one choice to enjoy the Bu-Ray format for the majority of the year, which is from a third-party company (Samsung). Rendr, the Samsung Blu-Ray player is going for $999.99. Nope, Blu-Ray is definitely not cheap. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
