Sony's Blu-Ray Player Delayed....AGAIN

Sony's own official Blu-Ray player, the BDP-S1, has been delayed for a second time.

Originally supposed to be out this summer, it was delayed until August.

Yet, on Sony's "Sony Style" website, they have delayed it yet again to "on or around October 25".

Why the delay? It's really anyone's guess, but the fact that it's been delayed two times already, and keeping in mind that this is THEIR OWN technology, one can only assume that something's not wrong in Sony's camp.

Perhaps this potential problem in the Blu-Ray world can even lead to a potential delay for the PS3?

One can only wonder...

Or they could be delaying it so more people will buy a PS3.

Shit, I saw an ad on MySpace for BluRay things, I just ignored it like all the ads though.

I don't see the big deal. You realize there are already non-Sony Blu-Ray players that have been released right :\/ ::samsung::

Oh wait the ps3 is more expensive than the wii so everyone hates sony now, carry on.

I'm a sony whore and I am sad. Not that i was going to buy a stand alone player anyways. PS3 here I come and just like you said "bitch has yo money"

I'm really not interested in any of this BlueRay or DVD-HD crap. I'd rather stay with the normal DVD.
At least there are plenty of movies availible on that format and I don't have a HD TV yet so I couldn't even see it in HD quality.

You could get the Samsung one I saw at Circuit City the other day.

How much do Blu-Ray players cost? I've heard prices of around $700 +. If that's true, it would be cheaper to buy a PS3.

Yes, I do know that the Samsung model is out, yet most Blu-Ray enthusiasts were eagerly awaiting the 1st-party player. The BDP-S1 was supposed to have been released first, but due to its delays, the Samsung player ended up being released first.

It just doesn't look good on the business side when Blu-Ray is Sony's own technology, they hype it up to such extremes, yet their own in-house player for it is being delayed for unknown reasons, thus giving the consumers only one choice to enjoy the Bu-Ray format for the majority of the year, which is from a third-party company (Samsung).

Rendr, the Samsung Blu-Ray player is going for $999.99. Nope, Blu-Ray is definitely not cheap.
