Honestly, I've had netlink and d-link routers that work just fine. And I've had more expensive ones that suck. Overall, I don't really see the reason to spend a lot of extra money on a "high end" router, unless you need a lot of channels.
Just get one that supports b+g and you should be fine. You can download custom firmware for most routers that works better than the default bloatware that usually comes with them. Jam it back in, in the dark.
