Resounding "meh" from me. I'm partial to Alpha 3 as it is, and I already own the PSX version, which was identical to the original save a few snipped intros/victory poses.
This may also be partly because I know Dan is useless in Alpha 1 and 2, and therefore I would be very sad playing those games. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
Everybody focuses on Dan's terrible special move priority, completely overlooking the obscene damage he puts out with his basic punches and kicks. All you need to do is wait for your opponent to let in a couple fierce punches, and they're going to be wondering where the hell their lifebar went. The secret is to NOT use his special moves, Chouhatsu Densetsu being the obvious exception.
Being a joke character, of course, I was under the impression that he really WAS useless in his first appearance in SFA1, and Capcom didn't buff him up to usefulness until 2 or 3. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
I think the Dan argument has gone as far as it can. The only way to prove my argument further would be to actually play the game and demonstrate. Suffice to say I could kick your ass with Dan, were we all within geographic reach of one another. Plus I'd need to learn how to play him in SFA2. He handles a bit differently there from Alpha 3, as the computer was happy to demonstrate. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
Wasn't Guile the only character not in the arcade version of Alpha 3?
Hey, I wonder if we'll get all the dramatic modes and stuff in all three games? It's not like they really have to worry about running out of memory this time around. It'd be fun to be able to do dramatic mode with characters other than Ken/Ryu or Juni/Juli. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
Oh God, why did I actually go there? The children are actually having a spat with shoryuken.com. What a bunch of twats.
And I never did see anyone answer what sort of arranged tracks in the game. The 'arranged' modes don't sound like they have anything to do with the music. I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
