Street Fighter Alpha Anthology
 

I think I might be the only one looking foward to this collection. I'm really looking foward to playing arcade perfect versions of Alpha 2 Gold, Pocket Fighter and Alpha 1.

Yes they're old games, I know. However, I do think that with the technology they now have [They being Capcom] we can finally play these games with ease and fluidity, which wasn't that availible in the 32-bit era [Minus the awesome 4mb ram cart for the Saturn].


Now all I think capcom needs to do is make the Marvel Vs. series trilogy, and I think i'll really be happy [Even though I have them on my Saturn..lol]

I'd be excited about it if I didn't already have Alpha 2,3 and Pocket Fighters. The only disapointment is that Alpha 3 in the collection won't have the 4 extra characters that the PSP version, but there's lots of fighters already to please anyway.

btw, did you mean a Marvel VS collection or a Capcom VS collection? Either way, I rather see Capcom VS Sammy be carried out like they announced last summer.

The Marvel Vs. series [XvsSF, MvsSF, MvC]. MvC2 yes is part of the series...but one, it was already released on the ps2, and it very different from the first three.

I wouldnt mind MVC2 to be on the psp..that and adding more characters would rock..


As for Anthology, i plan to get it only to add to my collection but if i need to kick some ass.. I'll just play this. This is basically the 5th time im getting sfa3..

I'm waiting for this collection,I play all on PS1 & I'll buy it for PS2.I can't wait to play Alpha 3 on ps2

Resounding "meh" from me. I'm partial to Alpha 3 as it is, and I already own the PSX version, which was identical to the original save a few snipped intros/victory poses.

This may also be partly because I know Dan is useless in Alpha 1 and 2, and therefore I would be very sad playing those games.

On the contrary, Dan is an excellent fighter at close range. I don't know why people give him a bad rap, because he really isn't bad..at all.

And I gotta be honest...I don't see what's so great with Alpha 3. Yea, it's cool...but it's so different from the previous Alphas, and it feels very cold to me. I think Alpha 2 Gold is the pinnacle of what a Street Fighter game should be, when it comes to gameplay, story and music.

They won't fool me with more remakes this time. I actually bought Pocket Fighter twice (don't ask ;)) and played SFA 1 and 2 until I got tired of them in the late SNES timeframe. SFA3 won't cut it for me since it won't include my precious Ingrid (I'm not competitive, I play for fun).

I agree wholeheartedly. Alpha 2 is most likely my favourite fighter of all time, and most certainly my favourite Street Fighter title.

I also love Pocket Fighters though, so there's a pretty good chance I'll be picking this one up.

Dan a good fighter? Are you serious. He was created to be a joke. He sucks in pretty much every game that he is in.

No, Dan's move may not look impressive, but it deals good damage.

So what makes him suck then? What, because his Gadoken doesn't go far? I mean that's the only thing I can think of that really limits him.

IIRC almost all his super moves are really low in priority which is a definite weakness. I haven't played any SFA2 in years so I don't know exactly what the deal anymore, but I remember that.

His flying kick move seems really good to me though, especially considering he's supposed to be a weakling. Fast, hard to block, deals pretty good damage, and almost no recovery time if your opponent blocks. It's kinda sweet.

Well his kick super, [Hisshou Burai Ken] is a great trap, because many players that i've played seem to fall either for it or into it. Not only that, but the super does amazing damage, especially at Lvl. 3

I love Alpha 2 so much that I'm even a proud owner of the (horrible) SNES version.

Too bad I don't have the money for this compilation. (and I much prefer my fighters in Arcades anyways)

Dan's moves have very low priority, hence he sucks.

Dan showed a good impression (with a touch of Kyokugen style) in SvC chaos....

Dan wears pink, therefore the greatets character ever.

I'll definitively get that even if I have all the games already. Anything with Alpha 3 needs to be in my collection :)

If the SvC Chaos version of Dan were in any regular capcom games, he would be god tier.

I once took out the top Alpha 3 player in my college with Dan (he used Zangief). Ah, I still remember the look on his face.

My personal best is probably Karin though. I'd complain how she should return for an SF sequel, but I'd rather complain about a new SF game, period.

I would certainly get the game if Alpha 3 had console exclusive characters (Fei Long, Dee Jay etc.), but seeing as Capcom is going for 'arcade perfect', that won't be the case. Instead, they chose to put their effort into the PSP version and there's no way I am buying one just for that.

I'd give Anthology a big poor rating if they do lol. that game was so stupid..

That would be pretty random. It's not a very good film though...
