Ha ha, I'm gonna miss that voice... :'( Poor Chopper...

Anyway, anyone seen those new Ace Combat Zero shots released lately? 2 player VS is back baby!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Oh shit, I almost forgot. Nuggets, there's a new BGM track over on AceCombat.jp for ACZ.

Edit: Squadron....Leader? Talk about dropping the fucking ball Nammy. At least Distant Thunder was on par with Shattered Skies.

US: ACZ: The Belkan War
EU: ACZ: ZOMG!!1 NUKES

There's nowhere I can't reach.

The hangar definitely gives me an Ace Combat 2 vibe, though it looks somewhat like the second one you get in AC5.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Solo Wing = Given to a pilot who lost a wing but finished the mission and came back. His F-15 is the one with one wingtip painted red.

Pixie is his callsign, which is obvious and the gum... I don't know. The guy in the trailer (at least from what they show) reminds me too much of Apollo from Battlestar Galactica. Man, I'm itching to hear the story behind this game... especially with Pops, The Major and Bartlett all somehow involved.

Ah, no prob. Damn, I forgot to link to the source of the shots since IGN doesn't seem to have these new ones.

Edit: Rock, you could get that one in AC5 by leveling up the A-6. I think it had ECM jamming as it's special weapon.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Well, get ready to archive some more Rock, since here's some screenies of Zero's debriefing screens as well as other menus. Oh, and some nice super-AAed shots.

And finally, the source.

Damn Tails, I forgot about that part in AC4. But to be honest, if that wasn't there, Distant Thunder could've worked. As for the lack of numbers in the stats, that's how AC2's worked (or IIRC, it was bars) and it seemed fined.

Damn, did they change the case for 4 and 5 when it came stateside?

Holy shit, more new screens over on Gamespot plus 2 new movies. Damn, Namco fixed the damn explosions. Now they look far better than what we got in 4 or 5.

Here's some shots:

And a new movie:

http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/sim/acec...ero/media.html

Edit: Just finished watching both. The shorter one seems like a routine shoot down the transport plane mission though it sounds like you're competing with ole Pixie for kills and the second one was fucking awesome. Not only did we get a confirmation that Pops is in this (Huckebein the Raven) but we get to see some enemy aces in action.

Looks like the Schwarze squadron's just like the Yellow in sticking to your six.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Pfft, I'm listening to it now. It's the same track that plays when you engage the Schwarze squadron in the video. Damn, so far so good with the music, the cover is awesome, and multiple special weapoons per aircraft are back.

I could make the thread again, but it'd only get closed down. Maybe they just rename this one?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Damn, what I want is that revised Unsung War track that played during the very first Ace Combat Zero trailer since it was mixed with this new song and it was great.

Damn, let me start saving up now so when the game comes stateside with the bundle, I'll just pick it up. Looks like the Flightstick 2's been revised, not that it needed to be, because that shit's perfect.

All we need is the Japanese cover art on the box and I'll be set.

Edit: Yeah, Skwerl, I mentioned that before. But they don't call him Pops of course, but Huckebein. Dammit, this brings up the very real possibility of fighting Bartlett before they both go down.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Wow, thanks Rock. Now we don't have to head over to their website just to listen to these. Anyway, it looks like your post is edited so you must've seen the videos already.

As for the folks we should be seeing, it's pretty obvious:

1. The Major
2. Young Bartlett
3. Huckebein the Raven
4. Grabacr Squadron leader "Ashleigh"

Well, IGN's got their own new videos up, even though only one of them is actually new (the other is just the first one that Gamespot has up).

Well, if Skills (Errm, JustDeclaredWar or whatever he's calling himself now) swings by here and edits his post the thread title will change, I think. If not I'm sure a mod will change it, especially in light of someone else trying to make an Ace Combat Zero thread.

Musharraf just shot down a bandit! Thanks a lot, especially since this thread is eventually bound to start focusing on any little AC6 details after Zero is available in the U.S. and Europe.

Well, the Belkan one was "one who engulfed the world" and apparently there was enough Yuktobanian involvement in it to drive the Belkans to target not just their massive neighbor Osea, but them as well with the SOLG.

Bartlett and Pops are a given, since they met in the war 15 years ago. I don't remember how they met, but didn't one or the other say that they shot each other down?

Not sure about the quote though, you'd have to go back through the cinematics in 5 to get that one.
Well, I wasn't making a case for the Major not being in it, since she was (aside from Nikanor) the biggest character to come out of Yuktobania in AC5. We'll just have to find out how she was involved in the Yukes finally siding with Osea to beat Belka.

Well, the MiG-29 is capable of carrying and firing nuclear warheads, so it doesn't need to be a bomber. And as you've seen in shots the ole Fulcrum is shown quite a bit.

What'll be interesting to see during the course of the game is the sentiments expressed by Belkan pilots and military personnel with regards to the Galm squadron and Ustio. IMO, I wouldn't be surprised if they consider their attack on said republic to be nothing more than taking back a leased apartment or something.

Just so you guys don't think I'm crazy, Ustio came into being after economic problems reached a breaking point in Belka.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Yeah, they really fucked up on this one. The Japanese boxart was fine, but somehow, they've managed to mangle this just by moving certain things.

You could've clicked the link to Gamestop's page for it, but there it is. Looks like they centered the explosion and toned down the red on the whole. Still, something else looks off when compared to the japanese one.

If you've seen the boxart for the US version of ICO, then you have a point. But this is yet another example of unnecessary tinkering. What exactly were they trying to achieve? A far more eye catching case? Big, manly explosions?

On another note, what the hell, 18 missions? It's like AC04 all over again, and if it's anywhere as good, I'm going to be pissed since that game was like tasting the best food in existance... for about 2 seconds.

Good things could be that each missions is much more focused, with less of the pacifist retardo junk that Edge, Archer and Chopper spouted.
