I'm totally proud of this thread, yup! Best thread I ever made!
The discussion is about changing the description and talking about AC0, obviously. |

I tip my hat to you for showing good form, Metal Sphere.

Who is Solo Wing Pixie and why did they give this retard a chewing gum? |
What is this? Looks like the travesty of an A-6 Intruder. And it has 4 (!) seats?
EDIT: Just found out it's in fact an EA-6B Prowler: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ler.750pix.jpg |
Solo Wing = Given to a pilot who lost a wing but finished the mission and came back. His F-15 is the one with one wingtip painted red.
Pixie is his callsign, which is obvious and the gum... I don't know. The guy in the trailer (at least from what they show) reminds me too much of Apollo from Battlestar Galactica. Man, I'm itching to hear the story behind this game... especially with Pops, The Major and Bartlett all somehow involved. Quote:
Edit: Rock, you could get that one in AC5 by leveling up the A-6. I think it had ECM jamming as it's special weapon. |
Oh, in case anyone is interested in the shitload of older screenshots that have been floating around in the old thread, I've archived them here in my pathetic attempt at a forum.
|
Well, get ready to archive some more Rock, since here's some screenies of Zero's debriefing screens as well as other menus. Oh, and some nice super-AAed shots.

Also, I think Distant Thunder still fails it for totally ruining the relationship to the final speech the guy gives in the hanger. "Now, let us.....fend off the distant thunder?" Seriously, that last hanagar line is one of the most memorable Ace Combat lines ever in my mind. NOW LET US TAKE BACK OUR SHATTERED SKIES! GET OUT PEOPLE WHO CHANGE THE SUBTITLE NAMES. |

Man, this box art is really good. I wasn't able to find a picture anywhere other than play-asia, but you get the drift. It's good, it's realistic, and it's really colorful. I'm sure if they can put such effort into a simple box art as they can with the game, it's going to shape up really nicely. Extreme props to whoever decided on this, the only problem is that there's probably going to be a different cover for the american/european release. Though they didn't do so with AC5, but did for 2 and 3. |
God if only the PS2 had AA. Ace combat 5 looked so jaggy it was distracting sometimes. If AC:Zero had AA.. I would weep with joy. ; ;
Also, why ditch numbers for a graph like that on the plane's capabilities? I kinda liked the numbers.. easier to compare the planes. Also, that cover is sexy. |
Raise your hand if you're a real Ace Combat fan.

I like Ace Combat, but all other flight simulators can burn in hell. Ace Combat 2, 3, and 4 have absolutely no interest with me, but 5 and Zero seem to be really interesting. I'm sure that offends your Ace Combat 4 pride, but to me, it was just one of those shelve games which people looked at while they're walking to what they really want. |
Did anyone else preorder this game? I did; according to Gamestop, it comes to this side of the Pac around 30 May. In the interim, I'll have to make sure and snag the April issue of OPM (available 8 Mar) because it includes the demo.
Oh, and one more thing... CDJapan soundtrack entry |
Damn Tails, I forgot about that part in AC4. But to be honest, if that wasn't there, Distant Thunder could've worked. As for the lack of numbers in the stats, that's how AC2's worked (or IIRC, it was bars) and it seemed fined.
Damn, did they change the case for 4 and 5 when it came stateside? |
