Ooh wow that looks pretty excellent, and CuarĂ²n is a talented director so I have much faith in this.

Also, I really dig the sci-fi-esque plot in the reality-esque setting.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

So this comes out in the states in a week or so (in the states at least), and I've already seen it twice anyways, so I thought this deserved a bump.

I really, really like this movie. There are many great parts about it, but what really stands out are the cinematography and the general world the movie creates. I am not exaggerating when I say that some of the action scenes in this film are some of the most intense in a film. There are some scenes that simply do not cut; that is to say, it's one continuous shot as Theo (Clive Owen) maneuvers throughout the (absolutely ridiculous) environments.

And about those environments! They clearly thought out every little piece of the movie. Few things are explained, but you understand what is happening just by how they are shown in the film (which is much more effective anyway, and makes the film better, "show don't tell" they say). I would get into details but that'll spoil the movie.

I actually think this is my favorite movie of 2006. It hasn't exactly been a great year for movies, but that should not take away from the sheer beauty and power of this one. See it!

There's nowhere I can't reach.

The movie releases in the states on Dec. 25. I have no idea why they waited so long, but as long as people see it I don't think it's a big deal.

I thought the ending was...
Spoiler:
interesting, for lack of a better word. I'm curious what the Human Project is like, and I'm a little disappointed they didn't show what happens next, but I also think showing any more would've dragged the film on too long. I do think they handled the ending very well otherwise. And, I mean, the rest of the film is rather depressing, but the knowledge that Ki is getting to where she is needed most is somewhat uplifting (especially compared to the rest of the film).

I did like one shot, right after Clive Owen dies, when it seems like she's just going to be stranded out there, as if the Human Project was all just a myth, and that they were gonna end it there. Then they cut and end the film on a higher note. Didn't detract from the movie, but a nice little touch I liked.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Oh yea, the casting here is really good. Clive Owen is fucking badass here, and Michael Caine is just hilarious. The pregnant woman (Ki) is also very good.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?
