Just saw the trailer and it was unbelievable.

This movie looks really, really good.

I'm getting a lot of "Y: The Last Man" (a comic about all of the world's male population suddenly dying except for one man) vibes from the trailer, which is definately a good thing, because that comic rocks.

It looks like an awesome concept and they have a great cast. Let's hope it can deliver but finally a movie I am eager to see (aside from the New Ninja Turtles).

Oh yeah, the high def trailer on the Apple site rocks :-D I got goosebumps all over. That can't be bad. :-D

Alfonso Cuaron has got me pretty convinced as far as his directing goes. I'm looking forward to this.

I watched the trailer and sent the link to a few friends, and we all came to the same conclusion: this movie looks pretty awesome.

Plus, more Clive Owen can't be bad. I loved him in those BMW "The Hire" films.

Ooh wow that looks pretty excellent, and Cuaròn is a talented director so I have much faith in this.

Also, I really dig the sci-fi-esque plot in the reality-esque setting.

Haven't watched the trailer yet, but the premise alone has got me interested (and slightly depressed =/ ). Definitely on my "Must See" list so far.

Mark me down for another that's really looking forward to this film. These are the kinds of movies I can really get into. Glad they haven't totally died out :)

That film looks like such a downer, but at the same time raises too many questions I'm sure the film will be unable to, or at least attempt to, answer. Like why infertile women suddenly? Why are the people such haters? Anyway, good trailer so far.

Pollution, genetic experiences, maybe a nuke exploded in the atmosphere and the radiation rotted their wombs, it doesnt' really matter the exact specific reason but I just took it as a general statement of the direction the world is going right now. How most totally disregard environmental issues and continually abuse the boundries of the human body in their efforts to play God. Eventually mankind will reap what they sow because it is said that it wasn't a random biological freak of nature women can't reproduce anymore, it was an external source that corrupted the natural order of things. Besides the movie is sci-fi and someone correct me if I'm wrong but don't a good chunk of sci-fi films take today's problems and turn them into tomorrow's catastrophes?

And people are hating because the end of the world is nigh. Also not to be a sap but this movie seemed to be all about hope rather than a sentiment that they're all going to die and there's nothing they can do about it.

Oh yeah did I mention Children of Men was a book? Well it is, and it probably explains the theory better than the movie would (which will innevitably have more bangbangboomfireguninfacerandomsexscene than the novel)

Wow. Definitely looks promising, Michael Caine is absolutely amazing and Clive Owen, Julianne Moore ain't too shabby either :P. Should be a good one.

I just hope this isn't yet another of those promising movies that eventually don't deliver.

Indeed, but I have a lot of confidence in Alfonso Cuarón. In what few interviews I have seen with him, he seems knowledgable and passionate.

So this comes out in the states in a week or so (in the states at least), and I've already seen it twice anyways, so I thought this deserved a bump.

I really, really like this movie. There are many great parts about it, but what really stands out are the cinematography and the general world the movie creates. I am not exaggerating when I say that some of the action scenes in this film are some of the most intense in a film. There are some scenes that simply do not cut; that is to say, it's one continuous shot as Theo (Clive Owen) maneuvers throughout the (absolutely ridiculous) environments.

And about those environments! They clearly thought out every little piece of the movie. Few things are explained, but you understand what is happening just by how they are shown in the film (which is much more effective anyway, and makes the film better, "show don't tell" they say). I would get into details but that'll spoil the movie.

I actually think this is my favorite movie of 2006. It hasn't exactly been a great year for movies, but that should not take away from the sheer beauty and power of this one. See it!

Anyway the movie is great, I agree 2006 had its disappointment, but this is one movie that they got right.

The movie releases in the states on Dec. 25. I have no idea why they waited so long, but as long as people see it I don't think it's a big deal.

I've been looking forward to this movie ever since I saw the HD trailer on Apple's QT trailer page. This is gonna be good. Sucks that it still hasn't been released here yet.

This looks very interesting.... I always wondered how the world would be if we all became infertil.

I just heard of this movie recently when reading up on Cuaron. I have enjoyed and/or loved every film of his that I have ever seen (<i>Great Expectations</i> is my debatable one as some of the acting was so questionable, but for the most part, the film was really well done, I think...). He has such a distinctive mark on each of his films and it's usually such a good one. Plus the cast looks great (yay Michael Caine) so I'm definitely looking forward to watching this one.

Oh yea, the casting here is really good. Clive Owen is fucking badass here, and Michael Caine is just hilarious. The pregnant woman (Ki) is also very good.

Well I just watched the film and I was blown away. Everything - the acting, the setting, the plot - work perfectly to fully immerse me in this dystopic future. One of the biggest complains I've heard about this movie was the "extreme leftism" it supposedly had. Am I the only one who didn't see this?



So how the fuck can you call this a leftist film when the greatest threats that face the protagonists come from radical liberals? Am I the only one who finds this to be the most shitbrained argument I've ever heard?

Anyway, I think it was a great film, easily the best I've seen this year.
