Internet Jargon: You Know You're in the Know When...

These are a few of the many terms and phrases that get used as part of some exclusive part of the internet, those in the know, to separate the vets from the, the n00bs, is it? That's it, right? Yeah. Or newbs. Root: newbie as in new person right? Yeah, okay. Anyway, this stuff gets tossed around annd they get really popular, some across the entire web and some in little communities like GFF.

What would you classify as your "need to know" list, the stuff you've gotta have in your head to be best equipped in traversing this internet?

I was hoping we could break the bounds of that exclusivity. Could you elucidate? PEBKAC just makes me think ZEBRA for some reason. We are all friends here. I mean, I could move my finger across a trackpad and do a search on Yahoo or whatever, but do you really want to make friends work?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

But what part about it in particular is so infamous and when people mention it, what are its implications? I mean in layman's terms.
