I use the duck myself, mostly for moving media files between my G5 and my media server/HTPC G4. It's a rock-solid FTP client with a nice interface and file manager. It's a little bitchy about "You have open connections! Really quit? You have open connections! Really quit?" which can get irritating considering there's a new update available almost every time I launch it and each update requires a restart of Cyberduck, but I think the warnings can be turned off somewhere. I'm just too lazy to bother.

Killmoms is right, too, about the Finder FTP client. It's shit. I haven't used it since it stuck on a connection to a public FTP and I had to restart my system to get it to let go. Don't even bother with it.

Using the Terminal is fine if you like the CLI, but a GUI client is usually better if you're deciding on-the-fly what files you want to move around.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

It is not my custom to go where I am not invited.

Apologies if this counts as a necro, but I'm very near to rescinding my recommendation for Cyberduck until they build in a way to limit the number of concurrent fucking connections it uses. We fortunately have some very understanding FTP admins here, as it got me insta-kicked from a number of GFF FTPs for saying "Oh, gee, more slots, ME USE MORE CONNECTION."

Apparently there's a way to turn it off via some UNIX hackery. This should not be required just to tell a goddamn FTP client to behave itself.

I am not happy with Cyberduck right now.

Most amazing jew boots

2nded on FileZilla. I'm so fucking glad it saw an OS X port, as I was quite fed up with fucking about trying to get Cyberduck to work right. I can confirm that the OS X version works just as beautifully as the Linux and Windows versions. It's also nice to have a single uniform client to use on all my various and sundry workstations.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
