I've never wanted to change my first name, which is Shane, in all the years I've been around. Well, at least not in all of those years I remember. My middle name, Michael, can take a flying leap and I've contemplated changing it more times than I can remember.
The one thing that does irk me is how frequently people fuck up my first name. Most common is "Sean," big fucking surprise there. I've seen and heard some real doozies, though. Gene is among them, Lane is as well. In fact, one of the places I go for lunch sometimes (Panera Bread) takes your first name when you order. They've fucked it up 3 times in 3 different ways. "Shene," "Shein," and "Shayne." I just tell them my name is Bob now. You have to be a very special kind of stupid to fuck up "Bob." How ya doing, buddy? It is not my custom to go where I am not invited. |
