There would be a thread if there was something to talk about, or any reason whatsoever to possibly look forward to this. Taco's right. It's not like there's a lot Tri-Ace has done in the last decade that hasn't eaten bowls of dirty assholes for lunch, so.

I think the best thing one can say is that it didn't turn out to be Undiscovery 2. Thank God for that.

Yes. I know that. Uhh...thanks? I guess?

Unfortunately

Pretty much shat on any leeway anyone should give them.

If you didn't want to just nitpick my choice of words, the proper response would have been this anyway

Because at least it's not a total bag of smelly, rotten vaginas.

Also, if you're going to be anal, Star Ocean 2 also falls within the 10 year release window, since you seem to be going by Yankee dates.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Wasn't nitpicking though, Skills.
Fair enough, I misinterpretted your point. That's my bad there, man. Apologies for the unneccesary snark.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

You're the second one to mention in this thread an aversion to guns in JRPGs.

Can someone explain this to me? Seriously.

Aren't you folks the same assholes who complain about generic main characters and their sword usage?

It's a Tri-Ace game, it's not like it's not gonna have the same trappings EVERY OTHER JRPG EVER has had, why the fuck would you be annoyed with the one tiny thing that might set a character apart? It's not like he's not gonna be a little emo shit and go through the same motions every other one has, so let him have SOMETHING instead of being soley defined by just how stupid his shirt is.

Ok, so.

Demos on both platforms in JAPPO REGIONS. Silver access on circlebox, so no need to worry about that gold locked bullshit.

Tried it on both. Frames are stable on both. Would be hard pressed to tell the difference.

Combat system makes abso-fucking-lutely no sense at all.

I've figured out how blue and red damage works, and about the bar and your slow mo moves, but the trigger for restoring the bar is beyond me. It seems to pop at the defeat of an enemy but it's also showed up elsewhere for some sort of juggles, so I'm not certain?

I was speaking idiomatically.

I should elaborate.

There is also a 300 MB tutorial video on both services. The demo is 680.

I have read what people translated and even they don't fully get it.

It feels needlessly complex for the sake of being needlessly complex.

I wasn't expecting to get the same sort of battle system gimmicky feeling I got with SO4 with this, to be honest. Scratch Damage, at least as presented here, makes little sense from a design standpoint, the same end could be accomplished with a little more variety in the moves instead of forcing me to end all the infinite actions with a specific character/gun in order to deal the red damage and kill them for good.

Unless there's an element to it not explored here, I'm having a bit of difficulty understanding the why.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Danger Mode or whatever it's called occurs when you run out of infinite actions. As long as you keep that bar at least partially full, you won't end up in it, but it seems that after you do, it's increasingly difficult to get out of it.

You have to admit, it's pretty bizarre. I realize they know it's cheesy, and they do it on purpose, but more often than not their recent attempts at corniness backfire from humourous to just flat out annoying and terrible. =\

Jam it back in, in the dark.

It's like a circle of bullshit, I suppose.

Do I hate the characters because of dumb shit like this, or do I hate dumb shit like this because it's done by a character I hate?

No. They have X percent chance of happening if you charge to that level though. They get replaced by a higher percent chance of happening as you level up another 12 levels though.

They are on the right side of the screen during charge and the ones that don't disappear after firing are active.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
