I think I can sum up my anticipation with the word "indifferent." Or perhaps "nonexistent."

I think the best thing one can say is that it didn't turn out to be Undiscovery 2. Thank God for that.

Strange, I don't see any differences between that "new" one and the first trailer.

This would normally perk my interest, but the guns kind of killed that. It's not a good sign, to me at least, when there's already one bullet time effect used in the first trailer. Not in an RPG. I'm not going to write it off until I see more about it, but at the moment it doesn't even look as interesting as Infinite Undiscovery did.

Also, screw you Skills, Valkyrie Profile 2 was fantastic.

Eh? No, I think this game looks like shit and agreed with almost everything Skills said.

I just love Valkyrie Profile and felt that, for me, it was a slightly redeeming factor for the subsequent nine years of underwhelming games. Wasn't nitpicking though, Skills.

OK, weird, the first one is the standard def version, and apparently they have different ID numbers. I assumed the first video was the teaser trailer that appeared, which showed a few things from the video actually linked, but hardly anything at all. My bad.

Not that I care, until some actual information is released, and give Tri-Ace's fairly 'meh' output of late, then I really have no interest in this at all.

You know there is a End of Eternity novel... but Isaac something and it's about people going into the past to change the future... haven't finished it but it seems VERY interesting!

I'm a complete sucker for time travel story >....< I HOPE this involves time travel... the machine in the trailer *seems to be focused on* may potentially be one... but I'm babbling I guess - dunno if anyone heard anything about the story plz let us know >....<

The only I know about this game's story is that the guys are "friends" - well one person + mercenary. The female is a test subject that was about to be terminated (on her 20th birthday... she is 19) but she escaped just before that happened (sounds like The Island).... but I read this on another forum so nothing official - EDITING Post: See ending for source


Ultimately I actually am REALLY looking forward to this
- It was said earlier this story would be appealed to older audiences (and I'm becoming an old woman :eye:) - I love more mature video games stories
- I LOVE the name End of Eternity... unlike Infinite Undiscovery... awful name (just my opinion though)
- The graphic "style" and setting - I LOVE! The long stairs are beautiful and the town (where the girl jumps from) is gorgeous!
- Finally the guy in the trailer (older dude) is soooo manly and hot.... keep punching that person's head into the wall >...........< *ponders how many times she rewind the trailer just for that part :eagletear:*

1 had more substance and depth. Where's the Einherjar backstories on the second one? Also while there's a time limit on the first, it added to the whole feel of "x days before Ragnarok" thing.

Only redeeming factor I can think of from the second one was the battle system. Otherwise it's eh, it's passable at most.

I'm not sure about this one. It seems that two of the characters use guns to battle and I'm really not a big fan of guns in JRPG games. I hope the storyline is interesting, kinda reminds me of that Korean animated movie Sky Blue about the whole pollution surrounding the earth thing.

You're the second one to mention in this thread an aversion to guns in JRPGs.

It's a Tri-Ace game, it's not like it's not gonna have the same trappings EVERY OTHER JRPG EVER has had, why the fuck would you be annoyed with the one tiny thing that might set a character apart? It's not like he's not gonna be a little emo shit and go through the same motions every other one has, so let him have SOMETHING instead of being soley defined by just how stupid his shirt is.

God forbid JRPGs limiting themselves to swords, staves and iron armor.

Fuck, that's why it has become stale lately. Bring on some futuristic weapons (like PSU) to this shit.

Tri-Ace seems to releasing games like nothing nowadays. Spring 2010 release. 360 and PS3. Doubt they will release it with FF13 on the horizon.

GameSpot has this pegged as the same game that End of Eternity is, save for Sega deciding to change its name for the US/EU launch.

What would make them want to change the name? End of Eternity sounds cooler, personally.

Both sound like bad fanfiction. May as well call it Fate of Eternity and be done with it.

End of Eternity was a pretty rad Asimov book, actually.

almost the same but with new CG scene and new music. I still wonder how's the gameplay will be, but for now the story could be interesting, at least I really like the setting of the game.
