Yes, I think Howling at an Unstoppable Fate was my favorite track on the entire album, and the album was full of great stuff, so that's a pretty nice honor.
You make a good point, variation is a wondeful thing (it is the only thing that saved the FFX album for me, 95% of Uematsu's tracks were forgettable), however I think Naruke held her own admirably in the WA3 album, she had enough variety in the tracks to keep it interesting all the way through (and having my favorite song on any WA game, Crossfire Sequence, also helped).
I *did* find myself having to take a break listening to Alter Code F and Wild Arms Complete Tracks though, so I also think having a few other composers would be good.
However, the only other artist on WA4 that I would really want to be prominent other than Naruke is Suzuki, because his/her style is something I haven't heard from any other game I've played. Kouda wasn't bad, but I'd be just as happy if Naruke took any of his potential spots in the game.
None of Shimizu's tracks stuck with me at all, I'd be perfectly fine-Hell, I'd *prefer* it- if his only work in the WA series winds up being what we've already heard in the WA4 album.
Honestly, comparing the Vanguard soundtrack with the WA4 soundtrack, my ideal soundtrack would be if Naruke gets as many tracks as Kouda did, Kouda gets as many tracks as Naruke did, and Suzuki gets as many tracks as both he and Shimizu did combined.
Of course, when you get *that* specific it never turns out the way you want it to.
