I don't mean to rain on your parade, Skills, but won't you need something to light it with? Flint and tinder won't exactly work in the middle of a pitched battle.

I guess you could use a torch, but then there's the logistics of juggling the slingshot, the oil, and the torch in two hands.

How ya doing, buddy?

Character History- GHETH MCGARNIGAL (of the southern McGarnigals)

GEOGRAPHY: Forest
It was Faerun, born and raised, and in the forest was where Gheth spent most of his days. When not busy with chores and his schooling, Gheth wandered into the woods near to his village. It was here that he earned his first appreciation for the seasons, and for Avandra's part in them. Although he'd be damned if he could tell someone which way tree moss points on a compass.

OCCUPATION: Scholar
Having lived in his parents' root cellar for the first 15 years of his life, Gheth decided it was time to strike out on his own after his hatchling school counselor suggested a career in the clergy. He feels satisfied with this career choice, though the letters from his parents concerning how often he contacts them on the ethereal plane feel suspiciously like guilt-trips.

RACIAL: Brush With the Past (and Future, why the hell not.)
Gheth was once told he resembled a Dragonborn traitor, a person who had betrayed his brood and had facilitated a massacre that was mentioned in passing in many dragonborn texts. Through research of his own, Gheth found that indeed he had an ancestor in this traitor. Of course, this knowledge had destructive potential for his personal life and among his friends. The draft manuscript for his tell-all book entitled, "Brush With the Past," would posthumously find its way into the hands of Brunswen Fernencully, renowned pretentiousician, and become a Baldur's Gate bestseller.

Insight +2 for leet research skills

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I think the new characters should make an interesting change to the group dynamic and not just because between them Skills and Acer are pretty much guaranteed to get everyone killed within days.

The two newcomers seem a lot harder to kill than Bob and Soggy but the group has less in the way of effective ranged attacks and no more Jedi mind tricks to solve puzzles. I'm looking forward to seeing how things develop.
Personally I'm banking on the utility buff and a few of the ranged 5 or ranged 10 attacks. I'll just have to be really careful where I spend Cascade of Light.

I just noticed my initiative roll is 2.

I actually thought about taking the initiative, but I didn't know if the cleric should be the one leading the party into battle.

I guess with our party the way it is, made up of so many rear-quarters fighters, it doesn't really matter.

How ya doing, buddy?

LeHah, opening move's yours just in case you've been ignoring all the skill-monkey shit that's been going on.
Well, I mean, I can only do so much random violence when I'm a servant of a good deity

I will make a conscious effort, though! Less skill checks per capita!

It's okay. I'm sure you can edit it and Pang will not be any wiser!
I considered editing earlier, but you can't remove die rolls as far as I know, so I think we'll Garr will have to live with it.

Additional Spam:
I suppose if Pang is amenable to my getting a mulligan, then I'd re-do the turn, but I don't want special treatment either, so I can just eat the consequences if it doesn't bother anyone else.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

So much for setting up a defensive wall, LEHAH.

When you all die I'm just hauling ass out of there.
You know, I probably should have been more specific when I said "the room on the right," because I actually meant that little alcove to the north.

I mean, I'm assuming that's a door and not an impassable barrier, but... >_>

Pang, could I not get to R37? I was kinda hoping I could get Acer to flank that guy diagonally.

I guess it doesn't really matter as long as he can get to S35, but I'd rather not be right next to the acidy spit again ;_;

I think that's just Pang's flavor text to spruce up the rolls, but IANADM, so

Pang, if a skill says it lasts until your next turn, but has "sustain minor" in the description, does that mean you can keep sustaining it until the end of combat?

Also, I couldn't trade my Hold Foe daily for Spiritual Weapon, could I?

gang up on the obvious big baddie, DO that!
I wondered about that. I didn't want to finish off the big guy and then get mopped up by a bunch of adults with 67 health each. I should have known killing the boss would affect the rest in some way.

So, I've been thinking, this may be our best chance to try to get some info about where these minotaurs are.

Thoughts on looking for the leader/taking hostages?

Well, I know they aren't necessarily going to be hanging out with the orc guys, but the orc guys might know a place they've had to avoid for fear of being pulverized by cloven hooves, or hey, maybe there's that one minotaur outcast that's a bodyguard for the orc slavers.

I'm just trying to be a good adventurer but seeing 'no specific destination' on every travel roll is somewhat disconcerting.

So...I'm out of nonviolent ideas.

My suggestion is to have a large wooden badger kamikaze animal of some sort come down from the ceiling to force that guy out of the rope square before he can pull it and then just let bloodthirst take its course.

As per Skills' post, I guess Acer gets to take his turn now, right? I wasn't following the rolls very well, so I'm not sure how much health he has.

I'm moving here in a couple of days, and my internet won't be back on until the 2nd (hopefully), so if I don't happen to be on and you guys are all staring expectantly at me, I'll let Skills take my turn. I don't expect any hangups, but just in case.

So by my count, Rundarr's down to around 45hp. We should be able to take him out if we can just keep the die rolls up. These minions don't seem to be too bad either if 20 damage bloodies them.

So do I have to treat those ballistas as enemies/obstacles, or can I just occupy their square like a table?

I guess what I'm really asking is if I have to hack them apart just to get to the juicier crossbowmen.

I forgot to add in my last post, Acer: D'awwwwwww

Also, I've been meaning to ask this for some time, but what is the bbl code for the little drop down menus that you guys use? That might come in handy for Zerg's graphs and if I ever have to do proof pictures.

So, Pang, did my damage not take effect because Helga's immune to Radiant damage? Or did I miss her somehow because of an equipment effect?
