If enough GFF'ers start playing I could probably jump back in. I used to play BF:2 regularly. Im currently a gunnery sergeant and have all my basic infantry badges, also a couple medals. I play best as a support role, my aim is atrocious so fighting isn't really my thing.

Although I have Special Forces, I have yet to re-install it after I had to un-install and re-install battlefield 2. Special Forces is extremely taxing on my computer it seems, namely around the night time maps. I could always try re-installing though.
There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
So do we have any sort of accpeted voice program we could all use while playing. The BF:2 VOIP client, if it's even enabled on the server of choice, isn't the best one in the world, especially if everyone can't manage to get on the same squad. Someone want to set up a TeamSpeak server or something?
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
Rock and Thalin, if you haven't already download Xfire. It tracks which server your on and shows it to all of your friends. Also tracks how many hours youve played, and serves as a out-of-game chat client and in-game chat client.

![]() Anyways, Im up for a game right now. Rock should be joining me. Both of us are on xfire ![]() I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
We have a voice communication solution now. My clan has a TS server that uses nowhere near it's max capacity of users. Lukage and I are Server Admins on it, so everyone can come on over and use it whenever you want to play BF2 with one another.
Server details: Client Type: Teamspeak Server IP: 70.86.43.58:8310 Anonymous login? Yes, restrictions of course Once you get in you'll be dropped into the Lobby. From there you will need a CA or SA to move you to the BF2 channel. Lukage and I are of course more than willing if were in at the time, otherwise you can ask someone else in there to move you to BF2 and you shouldn't have to many problems. When Lukage and I are on, we can go ahead and give you registration rights with the server, and once your regged you can move about freely at your own accord. So go ahead and drop on in anytime. If anyone in there asks you who you are or what your doing just tell em' your playing BF2, and reference me or Lukage.

A half bragging/half revealing state post, I was just recently in a server. There were 3 squads including mine on the Chinese team. The entire round I was the only person in my own squad, my closest competitors was a 3 man squad consisting of 2 anti-tanks and 1 support. I was engineer of course.
![]() *Sigh*, It was a really pathetic round for the Chinese >_> Double Post: Just a bit of an update. Although it's not official, I think the general concensus around here is that the Vent server Skexis mentioned would probably be best for voice communication. The clan who owns the server is pretty lose about who gets on, and you don't need to register either. Not to mention, Vent sounds quite a bit better than does TeamSpeak. So you don't have to scroll up to Skexis post, here is the info. Client Type: Ventrilo server: edge5.nrgservers.net port: 3507 You can usually find the BF2 players in the Misc Chat channel. So many people and yet so few participants, come on folks, join the GFF Squad and we can dominate the battlefield together >_>
Like said earlier, you can catch when someone from GFF, or a group, is playing by downloading Xfire and adding us into your list. Usually the way things works is whoever is online at around the time we meet will all join up into an Xfire chatroom. It makes it easier to communicate with each other, in-game and out. If you have a mic, or even dont and just want to listen, you can join into the TS server mentioned earlier. Once everyone is situated, we'll find a server and join into it. From there we dominate. Like Wolf said, we (Kamui, Wolf, I) played 5.5 rounds tonight. Our team won 4 of those rounds, and we got best squad twice. The .5? Everyone dropped out once Kubra Dam came up, Satans illegitimate child incarnated in the form of a map. Join up next time, because we rock >:) Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
So everyone knows, we have another game planned for tonight at 11 PM EST. So far the roster looks to be Wolf, Starman, Kamui, and myself, of course anyone else can jump in, the more the merrier. Per usual, we'll all meet on Xfire, someone will create a chat room and we'll find a server from there. The TeamSpeak server mentioned earlier will still be in service with your Server Admins being Lukage and Myself for tonight if anyone wants to use it.

Snipers suck, my hatred for them has grown ever larger, if that was even possible. Honestly though... we stunk. I think the problem though was confusion in the ranks. Waen was commander, that should have been me I think (Not that he didnt do a good job, just that I always do it) >_>. Also, we had some Non-GFF'ers join the squad who kind of complicated matters of managing the squad as a captain. You know, you tell them to go defend the refinery and one of them decides to do his own thing, that kinda stuff. But anyways, in the final minute of the game I scored my 3rd purple heart, and so I dont know weither to cry or be happy.

On that note:
Wolf brought up the idea and Ive been kinda researching it, how does everyone feel about starting up a quasi-proffesional GFF team? I mean as in a team that would compete in the TWL BF2 5 vs 5 Infantry Ladder. Make no mistake, I don't think we should join this ladder and expect to do very well, but what this would do is give us a set date every week in which we go in and compete against other proffesional teams. We might get our rears handed to ourselves everytime, but it would still be fun I think. Might even claim a victory or two near the start of the season. Here's a copy of The Rules. We would be competing in the 5 vs 5 infantry ladder. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |

Just to get this gravy train rolling, I'll go ahead and create the GFF team over on TWL. All I need from everyone, is a few questions answered.
1. What should our team name be? 2. Team Logo (200 x 200 pxiels)? I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
I'll be there probably around 8:00 PM CST. Before I would shoot up MEC as a high school student, tonight. I will be shooting MEC while holding a diploma ^_^

Version 1.3 was released today. I've found Gamsespot free servers are the most reliable for me at the moment, capping me at 60 kb/s. The patch added some stuff, but what I'll list are the award requirement changes.

It could be that I just got in before the heavy rush of downloaders. Early bird gets the worm and all.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
One day Thalin, one day.
Anyways, last night went okay. We only played 3 rounds, and it was just Wolf, Kamui, and myself. Both rounds were played on Wake. We lost the first 2 rounds, and then on the 3rd round Kamui dropped out but we still managed to win (hidden meaning perhaps?) Though, the best part was the awards Wolf and I got. I got the Veteran Medic Combat badge: ![]() And Wolf got the Meritorious Unit Ribbon: ![]() Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
![]() Erm yah, I haven't actually had any problems with this patch yet though. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |

I wasn't able to play tonight, a long story short I'm having computer problems. To make up though, I created a leaderboard of GFF'ers. I only included those I've seen fight at least once.

Tonight's game was awesome. We all started off playing AF on Operation Road Rage, which if I had my new computer built by now would be super awesome, but it sadly isn't ;_; . Next we played the catepillar map (Operation Clean Sweep), the rarest map of them all and broke down some misconceptions I had (USA cant win). Near the end we all started doing some hokey crap and it was just all around fun.
![]() Cattepillar ^_^ What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
Just a reminder folks, tommorrow is game night. Keep in mind that although everyone typically tries their best to meet an official Friday gameday, we all still play mid-week whenever were all on and available and willing to play. Don't log onto Xfire only for Fridays, always be on. If it makes you feel better, Xfire is a great standalone IM program, one that competes with the likes of AIM in my opinion.
FELIPE NO ![]() |
Okay, weve got a few new members, so reminder time. GET XFIRE. I cannot stress this enough. Quite frankly you will not play with us withought it, because we never have a consistent server or time we play at. Friday night is as specific as it gets. You NEED Xfire installed AND RUNNING to chat with us and figure out where we have decided to play that night. Alot of you have added me to your buddy list, but it does no good if your never on. Tommorrow is game night, again, we dont know where were playing or at what time. I can tell you that generally we begin playing around 8-9 PM CST. So PLEASE try and have Xfire on at around 7'ish and keep it on till about 9:30'ish.
How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
My computer is kicking and back in commission, and I must say, BF2 is a whole new game with the right hardware. Did this today on a full 64 man server
