There WERE ports of RE2 / RE3 to the gamecube, but they didn't get much, if any, of a facelift:



I did hear a rumour that they might remake 2 / 3 to be like Resident Evil 4's Wii Edition and feature waggle controls and over the shoulder perspective, but that was before learning about this, so maybe this is Capcom's way of giving us a remake without actually doing a remake?
