This show just screams generic action show right now. All of the elements that made the Persona game series great just seem to be absent here. I don't really know what else to say about this. The characters haven't really had a chance to develop nor do we have a big overarching plot of any sort that needs attending to. It could get better, but we'll have to see.
At least Spoiler:

Ehh.... I wouldn't bother. Episode 2 doesn't really get all that better.
There's a big problem with this series. The action scenes are things I've seen before and the characters are pretty damned generic that you don't feel any sort of connection with them. Furthermore, the atmosphere is filled with a sort of ennui; there's just no real sense of urgency or tension that I can think of, even when the action sequences do occur. The potential exists for this series to be filled with wonder and awe, but the execution was rather poor. As a result, I'm just feeling pretty bored with how this is progressing and frankly, I don't care about what happens next. Looks like a candidate for droppage. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
