Persona -trinity soul-

Based on the dark high school RPG; Shin Megami Tensei - Persona 3. For the PS2. According to ANN's brief synopsis. This story seems to take an alternate telling to Persona 3.

Hope this trailer helps in finding out were this story is headed :).

Does it spoil story from the game?

Miles Dec 12, 2007 01:42 AM

They better shoot themselves in the head when summoning their persona or I aint watchin' it. :3

I don't think so. It looks like a different story with different characters to me.

The story takes place 10 years later after P3. I never played 3 but since an anime is coming out soon, I may as well see this.

They don't actually, the persona's just come out of them like ghosts. :(

The first two episodes (raws) were kind of boring. Everyone seems to have personas and some people want to pull the persona's out of other people using their persona not sure why.

I didn't beat P3 yet so I'm guessing something happens and everyone has persona's coming out of them. I miss the old gang shooting themselves in the heads.

This show just screams generic action show right now. All of the elements that made the Persona game series great just seem to be absent here. I don't really know what else to say about this. The characters haven't really had a chance to develop nor do we have a big overarching plot of any sort that needs attending to. It could get better, but we'll have to see.

At least
Spoiler:
Igor, that weird guy in the Velvet Room, along with the music to the Velvet room
make an appearance. If this doesn't pick up, looks like my To Watch list is going to get really short really quickly.

As a stab in the dark, I'm going to guess that Igor's brief appearance in the first episode with a happy, sad, and angry mask, along with the title Trinity Soul implies that people have one of three basic types. This seems a likely reason why some want to feed on others and some try to nullify the aggressive.

I'm in agreement with zzero. This series doesn't seem that all attractive at all. It's just like the common car that I'll find everywhere else.

Although, it does have a Scryed feel to it. I've never played, or head of, the video game. But, if the personas can come out of any human being, then it's just like watching a watered down version of Bleach. We've got people who don't know about this alter existence and people who do. People who do obviously try to take advantage by stealing/consuming personas or people who use their persona as a preventive measure. Just like in Bleach where the hollows could manipulate the living so they'd die by some freak accident all in an effort to devour their soul.

I'm going to wait and see episode 2 to get a better feel of how the power/summoning is supposed to work. Otherwise, I'd rather watch the ridiculous KGNE Season 2 over this.

Ehh.... I wouldn't bother. Episode 2 doesn't really get all that better.

There's a big problem with this series. The action scenes are things I've seen before and the characters are pretty damned generic that you don't feel any sort of connection with them. Furthermore, the atmosphere is filled with a sort of ennui; there's just no real sense of urgency or tension that I can think of, even when the action sequences do occur. The potential exists for this series to be filled with wonder and awe, but the execution was rather poor. As a result, I'm just feeling pretty bored with how this is progressing and frankly, I don't care about what happens next.

Looks like a candidate for droppage.

So Shinsen dropped it.

Persona sucks. I'm done with it. I tried watching through 7 and 8, and it didn't help. Not funny, not dramatic, no fan service, no action, no anything. It's like a video camera following around a bunch of particularly boring high schoolers, and occasionally there's some action that's so hard to follow you may as well be watching a blank screen and listening to a "1001 movie sound effects" CD. I still can't figure out what the hell was happening in that fight at the end of episode 3.
Can't exactly say I disagree, but it is something I'd like to see to the end, even if it does the game absolutely no justice.
