See, touhou holds a charm which shines when you're playing it, but that can't be seen in an anime. Sort of like the Border of Death flash IOSYS put out, it isn't quite the same seeing people dodge bullets.

...or they could do an original story in which some disaster strikes Gensokyo and the girls need to find out what's going on. If they just executed the show in a similar fashion to what was done with Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's, I think it could go over really well.

The many FFVII: Advent Children fanboys will disagree with that notion. Despite Advent Children being a very subpar piece of work in everything but the eye-candy and maybe the music, there are a lot of FFVII fanboys who've accepted Advent Children as a legitimate follow-up to the game.
