Oh so bullshit on that. Shit just happens sometimes. Both of my PS2 controllers are mildly busted thanks to friends that would put the controller down on a chair then trip over the cable while getting up or sitting down. I've never broken any of my console related things, but that doesn't mean I haven't had issues due to just bad luck or other people accidentally doing things to them.
