But then, I also HATED The English Patient. I'll never understand the appeal of some of these movies.

Thank you very much, you've just saved a few hours of my life. I read about City of God with a bit of doubt but was just about to add it to my Netflix queue. Your comment about The English Patient made me reconsider though. I absolutely loathe the English Patient... worst soft porn movie... ever. Horribly overrated... So bad that I actually compare all other movies to it. Anything that approaches the vicinity of English Patient bad is not worth watching.


Anyway, enough about my ranting hate for The English Patient...

It seems I've seen quite a bit more movies than most here but I'm still lacking in some of the older films.

Personally I'm really suprised to see The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly rated at #5. I mean, I liked the movie and all and thought it was great but I'd definitely have a very hard time trying to recommend it to anyone.

Another interesting thing is to note how many movies there are on the list from 1999 - 2001, yet so few from after 2001. It really does make you sit and perhaps question the quality of films we've had put out the past few years.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
