Depending on how secure you want the connection to be, you can either setup a small FTP server (filezilla e.g.) or a SSH/SCP server. I think there is a port of the OpenSSH server for windows, that is relatively easy to set up. I don't recommend something like the "My Network Places"- method over a VPN, thats more overhead than you get data through the pipe.

"private transfers" (at least for me) implies a clean communication channel (something p2p doesn't provide) and at least symmetric encryption (soulseek doesn't provide that).
I really don't think it would be wise to use p2p software when exchanging private data.

@Elrasiel: If you don't care for privacy/encrpytion why don't you upload the stuff to the web, give you partner the link and he downloads the data. Or is it the filesize?

There's nowhere I can't reach.
