First off, you've never fully acknowledged that the Justice Department was never intended to be a political department, which throws a giant wrench into your "US Attorneys serve at the whim of the President" logic.
|
A wrench which summarily gets melted into slag.
The very fact that --
1. The President is elected.
2. The President has the power to appoint the head of the Justice Department
3. The Senate (which is also elected) has the power to confirm the Attorney General
4. There is a two-party system in the United States in which each party subscribes to diametrically-opposed ideologies
5. These two parties continually vie for power by pandering to voters of various demographics
Means that the position of Attorney General is inherently political and the administration of such department cannot help but to be political. Fuck what it intended to be, we're talking about things the way they are. Don't like it? Leave.

Second, you ignore the suspension of habeus corpus, his conduct while Ashcroft laid in the hospital, his continued refusal to respond to any questions on any government programs, and his complete lack of memory.

I don't ignore shit. All of the above can be argued until we're blue in the face, I simply don't see, Constitutionally or via federal law, where Gonzales did anything wrong. Don't like it? Kill yourself.

The man is literally the worst attorney general to ever hold the office.

If by worst you mean.....one of the Top 20, then yes, I agree.
There's nowhere I can't reach.
