Going by that logic and knowing that the terrorists intended to blow the planes up in mid-air while crossing the Atlantic ocean, I reckon this was much rather an attack on the big pond! ;-)

Have you ever heard of the terms 'terrorist' and 'guerilla' warfare? It's essentially the only way they stand a chance against an organized army such as the IDF.
