As far as I understand it, yes you can be charged.
However this other guy has to actually go down to the police station and press charges against you. In the case of a simple fist fight, this probably wont happen (unless he's a massive douche and or pussy). Personally it's the matter of fist fights escalating into knife fights that worries me more than charges being pressed. Jam it back in, in the dark.
