Gonna grab the demo now. Cheers for the heads-up, guys.
How ya doing, buddy? |
Shortest demo ever.
Damned pretty game, but not as impressive as I thought it would be. The colour design was quite nice... It's refreshing to see a modern console FPS that isn't entirely chock full of brown and bloom. I think I'm more wowed by the animation and the palette than any kind of photorealism they were aiming for. I'll wait to see people bitch about the quality of the full game before I make a decision. Shortest demo EVER. And they had the gall to put in a "level select" menu. ![]() There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I actually played through the demo again a few days ago, this time with the control scheme closer to that of the recent Call of Duty games, and the HUD turned off - seriously, I was impressed by how much more I enjoyed it. I noticed things like the screen leaning while I was behind cover, and shit rocking like crazy whenever EXPLOSIONS happened. Also, things like the little bits of destructible scenery were all the more apparent without anything cluttering the screen. This may well be the most immersive console FPS I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
