Actually, he is nearing the end. They went through a second playthrough to squash bugs, fix typos, etc, etc. There is still a two and a half month wait, but that is the 'worst case scenario' at this time.

This kinda reminds me of something I told Ness once. Wouldn't it be both insanely amusing AND annoying is the people who were working on Mother 3 said suddenly "just kidding guys!"?

The thing that throws me is he has like over a hundred people thanking him. Then in the middle one guy who says "Why is this a big deal?", then another fan flaming him, then peace (sorta) being made throughout the post save for another guy who just cuts into Gem a bit, and then one of the aforementioned fan flaming a "newbie". They then go on with normal, interesting discussion (save for the aforementioned guy writing super long responses towards another guy or two), and then an abrupt end to the thread concerning immature(????) behavior.

I could understand if it was legions of people...or like say even more than I could hold up on one hand, but so far, I really only counted two or three people who said anything really negative on the project/him.

The analogy here is like someone running a marathon, then after twenty-three and ninth/tenth's miles getting cursed out by a few people amongst a roaring crowd, getting pissed off, stopping dead in his/her tracks, and walking off without finishing the race. If you went that far, and had that many people rooting for you, it seems crazy to not see it through.

It's his project though so he can do what he wants. Still, spending who knows how much time translating and other things related to this game, then suddenly deciding not to release it...

If that isn't the case though, my guess is a Halloween release. It fits the bill...
