I have a mod-chip installed in mine and I can play any legit import I feed it. I'm surprised the boot disc doesn't work on real imports. Mine's still going with no problems and I got it chipped over 6 years ago...
DC was a fine system that fell victim to having been made by Sega. I don't play fighters as much as I used to, but I still have mine nearby when the need arises for some real MvC 1 and 2 and Project Justice. Also, the emulators work surprisingly well for it...The Atari 2600 one (StellaDC I think) is great (since I can't get it to work on my computer). Most amazing jew boots

I seriously don't know...Mine's a launch unit too and with the chip installed, it boots my imports with no problem. I can't go in and take the chip out to test it...I was totally unaware the boot disc didn't work on real imports. The emulators I have are all self-booting (yay for Nero images!), so I never tinkered with a boot disc extensively.
Sorry. How ya doing, buddy?
