[General Discussion] Best Romance Story?

I thought Yuri in Shadow Hearts 2 was interesting. Maybe not his thing with Karen slowly developing, but maybe moreso how much he missed Alice. I love how he blocked it out, and at one point, it gets shoved in his face and he ends up breaking down. Thought it was really powerful =D

Lunar: Silver Star Story and Lunar: Eternal Blue are high-rankers for romance stories, as well. Their remakes for the PS1 were incredibly well-done, and I suggest people look them up (either domestically or via roms).

I've been trying to think up good examples but I keep getting HORRIBLE ones. Like fucking, Meryl and Snake in MGS. God that was shocking. As was those two forgettable characters in Farenheit/Indigo Prophecy, I was pretty much throwing stuff at the TV screen during the sex scene.

Well, MGS was a clunky approach early in the field. Romance wasn't huge in games by that point, and I think it did an okay job. I think MGS3 could be seen as a more polished version.

Fahrenheit went to shit beyond one point. It had WHOA SEXSCENE OUTTA NOWHERE. It was a fantastic game. Then somewhere, the writers said "fuck it."

But back to topic, I'd also like to tag on Metal Gear Solid 3. Even though it's a mother-son relationship of sorts, the story of MGS3 was gorgeous involving Boss and Snake. A game never has gotten me that close to watery-eyed before. Even the romantic relationship itself in the game is wonderful.
