Al-Queda is not some sort of super villian organization with a secret fortress on the moutaintops of Uzbekistan. It's a network of people with similar ideals and goals. Even if Al-Queda was completely eliminated, there would still be terrorists out there. The only way terrorists would be gone is if humanity's worldviews changed for the better and put aside petty and asinine differences. This thwarted attack doesn't make me less inclined to fly, I love flying. I am glad they actually prevented it. However I think the extreme drastic measures of not allowing people to bring on carry-ons is too much. Didn't they find the guys before they came on to the plan? It just shows that at least the security checkpoints are good for something. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
That's fucking bullshit if you're not allowed to take a fucking book along. Where did you hear that? Are the airliners taking a hit financially after this threat? Seriously, the British government is overreacting to this situation. The liquids turned into a bomb doesn't happen magically. If anything, they did it before they even showed up to the airport and put them in containers disguised as everyday objects. People do that all the time to sneak in booze to public events to avoid paying the high prices. They caught the terrorists before they came on board, why all the unnessecary bullshit? I'd certainly not want to fly to Britain, not because I'm scared, but because I don't want to deal with that bullshit. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
